I am curious. Why does Blood Mage use Health. Sure its all about this sacrice thing to a demon or something. But in theory. Wouldnt it hulk you up. If anything. Adrenaline kicks in. And you actually have more health, stamina. If your a Mage class. Your going to put all points into magic, even willlpower. So by the time you reach blood mage in game. You have to re assign points, whats the point of that. You dont start a rpg, grow your character, just to start over mid game, just because one feature, example, blood mage. Now you need points in health, instead of willpower. Thats like saying in a shooter. Every bullet you fire, you cause damage to yourself.
In all history of games. The theory behind blood mage is a joke. The fact is in any rpg game. Any mythology of Mages. Its all about Mana, not health. It doesnt matter if your a blood mage, force mage, a shape shifting mage. Its all about magic, manner. Now you may have good spells, or bad. As in good, evil. But to have this magic through blood. So whats the theory. Is your blood part mana, or does some mysterious demon give you spelll power. It all sounds nonsense.
So they make blood mage, the strongest mage path. But at a cost. Health. I dont know about you guys. But I am tired of jiggling and juggling points in rpg. Dont get me wrong, I love leveling up. I just dont like gimped systems like this. Its like one step forward, one step back.
Hey. You can be blood mage. But we gimp your health. So if there is some big boss battle. You sure better have alot of health. Plus. You can gimp your parties health. Sure they would really appreciate that. I played blood mage on original and it was terrible. And even worse in this game.
As I said above. If you are using dark magic. Surely it would make you stronger, not weaker. So in theory. Your mage is always weak, near death. Because there one source of magic is health. If using blood magic. So what. You need like 40 points in health, 40 in magic, to even have a fighting chance. I am all for balancing my character, leveling up. But you dont make it harder and more frustrating for a gamer.
