I have installed dragon age II on my main computer and both my laptop and my wife's laptop. Every time she tries to log on to play on her laptop, it asks her to authenticate. The first few times when she entered the account information for authentication again it worked, but now it says "too many computers have accessed this version of Dragon Age II recently. Please try again later." How many computers are we allowed to install the game on? I thought it was up to 5? And why does it keep asking for authentication when it has already been authenticated?

I can't find the thread right now.. but I know there are differences in the numbers of 'allowed' computers depending on the OS.. the PC version is 5 (I think), and the Mac version is 3 (I think).. there was a post about the DRM put up by BW before the game released.

I was just online with someone from EA, and they are going to have to escalate the issue to a senior support manager. He told me we get 5 activations

Hrm, I had to authorize the first two times I played. Wonder if that means I've used up two authorizations on the same computer. (not that I'm likely to ever reach five).

I had the same issue yesterday. Right after install, every time I start DA2, it prompts for my EA account user/pass for game activation with or without the disc in the drive.
I shutdown my mac every night and today when I started DA2, it no longer prompts for online activation. I guess a restart is needed after install to get rid of some temporary files used for online activation.

I'm glad shutting down seem to fix it but might I ask why you are shutting down your computer each night? Me? I basically only restart when there is a Mac OSX update that requires it and I see no performance gain/loss from it. I see it as one of the advantages of running OSX instead of Windows.

I'm not a heavy mac/PC user at home so there are times when the machines are not being used at all. I just want to save electricity. That's all.

Ok, On newer MACs and PCs the "sleep" mode draws basically no power it just allows the computer to boot up a lot faster. For me the saving (nowadays) are not worth it so I leave the computer in sleep mode. That said my mac also serves as my iTunes server for appleTV and airport speakers so it sees some work even off hours.

My digital d/l copy of da2 has also repeatedly requested validation - once when i wasn't online. Wouldn't run consequently. Thought we only had to activate it once!?! If there are temp files that need to be cleared to ensure offline play is possible, I'd appreciate the tip. Cheers.

I'm also having problems with the authentication. Even with shutdowns it seems to keep asking every time I start the game up.
