Yes... well... um... it is really, really annoying when you demean people you don't really know like that. If you could please stop I'd appreciate it. And so would every other person you interact with for the forseeable future.

If so he could learn that lesson himself before throwing out the world troll so easily.

finished my 1st run through as a mage, sided with the mages, really pissed with them now, and i am reloading a passed save before i choose a side, i am taking the Morrigan route this time, Kill the dam circle, they deserve nothing less, slaves to their masters and too pitifull to stand up for themselves without outside help, usually in the form of my bloody character, cheeky bastards.

And no im not a bloody blood mage, the school sucks in my opinion and is vastly under powered compared to the far more destructive Elemental and primal schools, and entropy and spirit are better for controlling. So down with all blood mages, which happens to be erm.. oh... well 99.99% reoccuring in DA2, so i shouldnt feel much pity for them, the templars on the other hand, well my **** of a brother is one, which is why i sided with the mages at 1st, but it seems he isnt so much of a ****** at the end. that and the fact that after helping the mages i felt like i did the right of annulment anyway when the bastard first enchanter betrayed my trust and turn into that dammed Harvester, and revealed everyone appart from a tiny group of mages hiding at the entrance behind the magic barrier the harvester made, was a blood mage. and all the templars outside trusted me over their leader, my mind suddenly changed and im regretting my 1st choice now.

Wish me luck, for the only mages im leaving in Kirkwall are going to be the ones in my party who will stand with me, anyone else is going to die, and that certainly includes Anders, i was like wtf are you doing when he blew up the chantry, well at the same time thinking, why the hell didnt he do that to some of the blighted blood mages we came accross on our travels...lol. need to break up with him, Meredith next and then i had them all..hehe.

I used to think that magic was just like a gun or a sword, but came to realize that it was not. A man with a sword cannot kill hundreds of people in a blink of an eye, and if he can (like the main character), it's not the sword itself that did it. With magic, everything's fine when things are fine, but the problems it can cause when things are NOT fine justify, for me, the total eradication of it.

Which is pretty much why I killed every single mage I encounter, including my sister. Only one I kept around was Merril of course, was hoping to make her tranquil and keep her as a...err...nurse or something..yea..nurse...for...when I'm wounded and stuff... :)

I hate templars as well, but they're weak and rarely go completely insane, making puppets ouf of people's moms and stuff. And in the end, no mages, no templars, two problems solved with one stone.

Heh, I'm with you on that. My very first thought when I arrived in Kirkwal was: "ok, familly safe, now let's head back and kick some darkspawn butts!"

I just wanted to add in that after I beat Orsino I actually did recieve his staff! Perhaps it's a rare drop?

Charming. Especially the implicit rape of someone who's soul you forcibly lobotomized.

In DA:O Blood Magic was supposed to be this secret, hard-to-obtain lore. You had to go bargain with daemons to even get a glimpse at it, and most mages were horrified at the concept. In DA2, blood magic happens whenever a mage - any mage - gets slightly upset. They can then decide to stab themselves, and turn into abominations while spirits and corpses rise out of the ground (even if you're indoors and there are no buried corpses within miles). By the time you reach the second half of the game, random blood mages are running around the streets at night, attacking the PC like common thugs. And don't get me started about the quest NPCs. The second you see a mage in a quest, there's at least 85% propability he'll turn out to be a blood mage before the quest is over.

Towards the end I was starting to get sick of Blood Mages turning up at every turn. Also, My Hawke was a Blood Mage and yet this was never acknowledged. It made no sense that I was a Blood Mage and I always had to be against them or frown upon it during dialogue.

My thoughts exactly.

In DA:O, blood magic was a very specialized, if powerful, school. Here blood magic has become a be-all-end-all utility school that lets your raise the dead, teleport across cities, summon fade spirits at will, bind people, un-bind people...

Blood Mage Hawke seems crappy compared to all the other Blood Mages. He cannot summon demons/undead or anything. Maybe its because he didn't make a pact with a demon like the others supposedly did?

x2

I  ended up siding with the mages more to stop the Templar injustices than to help the First Enchanter and all the other blood mages though the game does make it sound like you're taking his side which I really wasn't.  I just wanted to stop mages from being wrongfully made Tranquil.

It confused me tbh, through my first run through I was like " Not every mage can be bad so I will stick up for them." Then I had to kill them as they turned on me only my companions survived the confusion then Anders.... Lol what a ahem.

Next time I will kill them all excluding bethany and Merril (Least she is honest). Though admittidly I love a screwed up world and DA2 delivered on that.

That wouldn't solve anything, though. You want a real solution? Anull the Circle for justifing their own opression. Once you're done, slaughter the templars to a man for being opressive when their job is to be attentive.

"Good choice, sir."

I have to say I was surprised byt the sheer amount of mages running around freely. I thought it was totally overdone. I played a few of my characters to act 3 but still haven't actually finished the game, I am like that, I start over and over and over lol. I am however going to side with the templars the first time I actually finish the game.

the way I understood it was the templars were turning eveyone into tranquil, or killing them and turning to blood magic was the only thing that could set them on equal ground. I agree making the first enchanter a blood mage at the last second was nuts, but then again Having the Soul Edge turing Meredith in to a Dark Jedi was unexpected and freaking awsome.
