In DAO I had no problem setting up tactics and healing.

In this game, I am struggling even on normal to beat so called boss fights.

I can't seem to devise any kind of tactic which makes my mages heal tank or dps in party. They are useless. A lot of the time, any mage whom I have attempted to set tactics for will just stand there in battles, doing nothing. 

I have my mages/rogue set up as ranged, but their tactics dont seem to work.

What am I doing wrong? Are tactics bugged somehow?
