I just cant seem to get her high enough in either friendship or rivalry, any tips or specific quests which would help?aReally don't want her to run off in my 2nd playthrough,

It's pretty easy if you romance her, and keep her on your team so you get more dialogue options. I never had much trouble with just doing her quests and romancing her, she came running back.

Did you ever visit Hanged Man on a night? Thats how I usually come across her.

Visit the Hanged Man every now and again. She should be there at some point during Act I or Act II.

After you get Anders, go to the Hanged Man. That's where and when.

Im really surprised you got through and never met her, its quite hard considering you have to visit Varric every so often

Isabella must be recruited in Act 1, I believe, or you cannot get her.

I was a blind idiot and had a tough time finding the huge upside down hanging man sign in low town and never got around to getting there at night during act I and by the time I opened my eyes and actually looked for the place, she was no longer around. Be sure and visit the Hanging Man at night often during act I to recruit her.
