Take a pass on it buddy.  You'll be miles ahead and 60 bucks richer.  If you are still dead set on buying a mediocre hack n slash go ahead and buy it when it hits 30 bucks.

If your a computer gamer I'd say either skip it or wait on the price drop, for a consol player I say rent it.

If your paying this on a console I would suggest renting it first to see if you actually like it enough to buy it. If your a PC gamer if your ok with the game being very linear and the game mechanics being changed then buy it.

@ HieOapeen,

Before you run away with all these threads, I have just one simple question to ask. Upon looking below your icon, I noticed that you do not have any games registered. Although I can understand the criticism, why do you not have any games registered? Did you buy any dlc?

Other words, did you purchase your rights to voice your opinion buy buying any of BioWare's games?

Are you a BioWare consumer?

Did you read the OP? If you think you did, try again.

Also it has been reported in numorous locations that in at least one instance, someone who was banned from the forums had their account deactivated/suspended to the point where they weren't able to play the game anymore. A spokesperson has said that it was a glitch, but knowing that this can happen even by accident, makes caution wise.

Ok so Dragon Age 2 is not nearly as good as Dragon Age Origins.

But guys, seriously. Let me ask you a VERY honest question. Total and 100% honesty.

Should I skip Dragon Age 2 and wait for Dragon Age 3? SHould I pretend that Dragon Age 2 never happened or should I give it a chance?

a) give it a chance

B) skip this horrible piece of sh*t game

Be honset.

You seriously wont lose anything if you skip it for now. Buy it when they have finished the game, that is released all content in DLCs and made final patch and sell it in all-in-one packet called "ultimate edition" or something.

I rented it too.
I really like combat, dialogue system, and some characters.

I absolutely hate the recycled areas, going through the same cave/coast/town/whatever for the third time is not fun.

I am not gonna pay 60 bucks for that game and I am not buying any DLCs - that's for sure. It is not a bad game, but it feels rushed, and it is not worth the price they are asking for it IMHO.

the only time i envy console gamers..the ability to rent and find out without the feeling of wallet rape if its rubbish.

i vote rent.

@ the registered game accusers,i think the last week shows clearly why you should either never register a game,or dont post under a registered account username.

I'd say skip it for right now

This, its wont be as good as DAO by the sound of things, but it wont be as terrible as people claim.

Besides if they put enough effort into dlc/expansion then it could be a much better game and fix problems.

Wait for ultimate, if still unsure, wait for ultimate to drop into bargin bin.

Allthough after its reception there may not be an ultimate.

I was extremely disappointed with the development route they took, however its not a terrible game.

I don't feel like I am playing a well polished Bioware title I have come to expect from them, and this game was bought before even playing the demo, as I considered Bioware titles instant buys prior to this. I have played everything they have ever released.

I have had several of graphical issues within this game. The majority of problems relates to having nVidia based hardware for your GPU, although there is plenty of proof of 58xx, 68xx, and 69xx having terrible frame rate issues, despite fanboys claiming conspiracy.

My computer should quite easily play this game on Very High settings on my computer, and although its playable at 40 fps, it does have atrocious micro-stutter, graphical glitches (shadows are wrong, and black blocks of graphical corruption when there are spells being cast. Not to mention the lag input issues (running with the keyboard makes you feel like 10 fps as opposed to feeling solid running with the mouse.)

Of course I could play the game on High with 80% of the visual eye candy, but I shouldn't have to, considering the money invested into my hardware dwarfs what most would spend. This makes the game feel untested and unpolished.

Once you overlook the graphical issues, you have to deal with quest bugs, and atypical bugs the game (or any new game will have.) Its just too much gone wrong for me to enjoy this game.

I feel I made a bad purchase @ $60. I will never buy Bioware without applying the scrutiny I apply to every other game developer now.

This game is not much of an RPG from an older PC-RPG standpoint. Its an action game thats customizable in some classes, and some gear. This game has been made more approachable to what feels like a younger (more mainstream) audience, which also corresponds to being simplified for consoles as well.

The dialog has improved, but like I said, bug after bug, a crash here and there, and performance I would expect from an indie developer or a mod, has left me unable to enjoy this game in all of its glory.

Keep in mind most peoples reviews are based off of the performance of the game, or the inability to play the game for several days after its release. It does make people biased of course.

If you want to avoid most of the issues, wait to purchase this title. Most will be fixed with patches or drivers, or just a magic wand. Feedback on the graphical/performance side from Bioware on these forums are lack luster at best, and there is no way to attempt Beta patches on Steam (according to them.)

There handling of bug submissions seems to be archaic, and the forums have the feel of disarray about them. I personally would like a one on one with Bioware support, as I was a QA Analyst, and as I am playing the game, I am recognizing various design problems, with models, graphical corruption during spell casting, combat, lighting, incorrect shadow alignment, incorrect lighting in levels, obvious tessellation problems in the ground, back ground rendering problems, visible wire frame in rendered 3d environment etc. There is too much wrong, for me to enjoy the game, so far I just play to find new problems that I have been jotting down.

I will eventually expand on this in my review of the game I am putting in the review thread.

I am playing from a very expensive computer:
i7 980x @ 4.25 GHz
24 GB DDR3 @ 2000 MHz
SLi GTX 580 (900/900 2200/2200)
Windows 7 Ultimate (x64) + SP1

Take A. the story is good, the characters are interresting, the background is sympathic... You will have some serious fun on it if you're not one of those ''Old-School-tactical-only-Gamer'' or ''I-Wanted-to-play-elf-again-gamer''...

No it is not a bad game. If you have played some of the other hack and slash rpgs out there and enjoyed them them id give it a go. But as others pointed out, renting it maybe the way to go. I played the first a lot. Ive played this one for a week and after completing itand I cant see much reason to try anything else.

I am tired and bored of ignorant people like you. I hadn't registered my game till today and I have been a part of community since last 8 months or so. Its people like you who stifle legimate opinions are in my book resposible for the abortion that DA2 is.

Don't let other people ruin what could be your chance to play an excellent rpg, with deep story and superb writing.  I was uncertain about DA2 when I came to it as well, but it blew me away.  If you have an open mind, and are willing to accept a game that is not DA:O, I highly encourage you to give Dragon Age 2 a try.

By the way i have not played either dragon age or DA2.
