I started Act 3 a bit ago, got all the champions gear except the hood and that badass sword / staff from the demo... can anyone tell me the locations of those?

I'd like to get them now as I hear Act 3 is shorter.

It's the Staff of Parthalan, it's a DLC - Note if you want to use it in act 3 you need to modifiy the stats because it's a low tier weapon.

I'm pretty sure there is another with a bulkier blade.  The pics I saw of another guys Hawke looked different anyway.  Or is that a weapon that "levels up".  I have it in storage still.

The staff is the staff of parthalan, at least it seems that way to me. DLC available by registering for the newsletter I believe

well cripes, I have it but I was hoping for a better one later in the game. Like a "Champions staff" Boo.

The staff your thinking of might be the dalish elf keepers staff. You don't get that one until the third act on Merrill's personal quest for that act.

I'll check that one out, does anyone have a "top 3 mage staff" list? I'd like to nabb them as early as possible in Act 3.

The dalish keeper staff was the best one I found... but that's personal experience, and I have no idea if there's a better one around

best staff i was able to locate is the one you can buy from this mage guy in the former "tal-vashxyz" camp at the wounded cost, but he will have it only in act2 and it will cost about 120 gold, i will edit this post later and add the stats.

edit: name of the staff is: Cold-Blooded
37 Cold Damage (50 per Second)
+ 6 Magic
+ 40 Mana/Stamina
+ 10 Mana/Stamina regenertation Rate
+ 30% Cold Damage
+ Bloodmagic: Each point of health provides an additional mana

requires = 35 Magic
pirce = 113 gold 90 silver 73 copper

Bah, never have the cash for that, I don't know how ya'll do this console thing to get more cash

If you're on PC you can modify the Staff of Parthalan to level up with you using PyGFF and GDApp.
