BUT what I did get in various fights in the underground caverns after going through the house was several points where the system slowed too a crawl almost on the verge of crashing then recovered itself and I got through the whole quest .
No trouble with zoning into or out of or any convoes wiht any of the characters
It seems alot of problems I see posted on are for older hardware...but if you cna produce a positive andbenchmark those against those who are haivng problems maybe this will help solve this particular issue
I still have thumbs up and merril mourning isses so thats deffo a game code thing rather htan hardware related me thinks
for info I'm running
intel i7 920 @2.44GHz
Gigabyte GA-EX58-UD3R Mobo with 6GB in tri channel
win7 64 ultimate
ati MSI HD6950 2GB vid card 11.2 drivers
Oh and off topic but i do see that the game drops out of full screen to windowed - looses checked setting and seems much more smoother on current drivers in windowed mode

Like i told, I also got this Problem...BUT ! now it works
Think I've found a solution for me.
After getting stuck inside the estate with my warrior I started a new Playthrough with a Mage (think it will work as rogue too). I finished the Prologue with him an saved my game in Kirkwall Uptown [day] (seems like it don't work if saving anywhere else or at night) !.
After this I reloaded an earlier savegame of my warrior (also Kirkwall Uptown [day] !!!).
Next I went into the estate with him and could finish the quest without crashes.
Step by Step:
1. Start a new game with another class than you're actually playing (You played Mage? Don't use it again)
2. Finish Prologue
3. Save game in Kirkwall Uptown [day]
4. Reload to your first Character. (Savegame also have to be at Kirkwall Uptown [day] !!!)
5. Complete Quest
6. Celebrate (or maybe cry if it doesn't work for you)
I don't know if I were just lucky or if this works for others too =/
Didn't work for me

Before, when I was having difficulty, I was running an Athlon single-core ~2.2 ghz, 2 gigs of memory and a 512 video card.
After I'm running an Athlon X2, 4 gigs of memory and a 1gb video card.

If it helps, I’m also suffering from the missing dialog bug (when talking to companions/interaction points) posted about a few times on the forums and I am running the game with a single core processor.

Same thing I did with Repentance really. TRY TRY TRY and TRY again.
Does anybody have any idea what the causes could be yet??
I dont wanna have to do this AGAIN if I make another character,
Seriously these crashing bugs make me stop playing for weeks.

This game was advertised as needing a dual core CPU to work at all, so complaining here won't change that, and Official Support doesn't exist for single core CPUs. The only answer there is seems to amount to getting new hardware.
Well i play on a single core pc, 8600gt 512mb, 2.5 ram and i have not had one crash since i bought the game, many, many restarts and got to Act 3 without a glitch, apart from some of the obvious bugs that are not game stopping errors. This bug has nothing to do with single/dual core pcs, also i am using an old nvidia 197.45 driver.
I have done the Dlc quests about 8 times now, and not one crash.

You are extraordinarily lucky then, as your system is well below the minimum specs. Before patching, those on single-core machines could not even save.

I hoped 1.03 would fix the problem, but it got worst! Sometimes I can't even load the saved game just after the demons fight underground, the game crushes during loading.

If you are still using a single core PC when the requirements were announced so far ahead of the game release that you can't say you couldn't have found out that your PC was too limited to be used, you just have to go back to the prior patch level and be glad that it was working.wolvie_70 wrote...
Same problem already in 1.01

THERE IS NOTHING OFFICIAL in the forums. EA is what you get, on their site. This is Self-Help. If you want the game to regress back to where NWN was, you are out of luck. Multi-cored PCs are here to stay.Tandemir wrote...
Thank you to those that actually had something to contribute to this thread, it's appreciated. Hopefully, someone official addresses this soon.

Fortunately, I have a dual-core work laptop so I was able (again) to install DA2 on that, download the necessary DLC, patch it to 1.03 and port my last saved game prior to the Flora Harriman crash into it and then play through until I could exit the Harriman Estate. Once I re-import my games back onto my single-core PC I expect to be able to complete Act 2 as normal on the my usual games PC (rather than the work laptop which actually runs more sluggishly). I now expect to need to keep a copy of the game on my work laptop (against company policy) just so I can resolve any issues I might experience with the Faith quest in Act 3. Annoying but at least it means I can complete the DLC I paid for. Tough breaks for anyone without access to a dual-core backup of course, which is why I say again the 'official' line should be the Exiled Prince DLC is *only* completable on multi-core PCs and players shouldn't expect (as things stand) to complete it on single-core PCs.
I think that some people (myself among them) expect that since Bioware was able to fix the 'single-core PCs can't save games/access Kirkwall' bug when DA2 came out then they must surely be able to fix the 'single-core PCs can't complete the Exiled Prince DLC' bug*, right? Well, it ain't necessarily so; the two 'bugs' might not be related and the DLC bug might not be fixable, or at least, not as easily as the first. Which is why an official statement would be helpful so people know in advance. There's currently nothing in the Exiled Prince DLC page that says 'this DLC may not be completable on single-core PCs', so people could be spending money for something they can't play.
*Btw, so not interested in having a semantic debate on whether those are really "bugs" in the strict technical sense; from a player POV if something is 'broken' (for whatever reason, by design or omission) it's a 'bug', okay?

Meanwhile, this is a summertime situation, with very low readership, and we see a drop in participation over an extended weekend period from Thursday night through Monday night, such that you just cannot really "expect" an answer any time soon. The forum's own Find / Search was created as a pitiful, broken piece of crap, and should be ignored. The archives are the best bet for help here, but use a real search engine, either Google or Yahoo, and then add a redirector to it:
