That have that Talent that lets them use cunning instead of strength for damage?  What else would STR let them do?

Indeed true, though if you're getting lethality, you should likely focus on Dex for chance to hit because dex benefits so many other stats AND is better suited for piercing weapons like daggers.

Moreover, if you have lethality, that means you're likely using daggers in the first place, since using swords or other weapons would require a lot of str. and thus the benefit of swapping cunning for str is diminished.

Bottom line: if you're taking lethality, I'd suggest getting only enough str to equip what you want to wear.  Any more and you're diminishing the benefit of lethality, since those pts could have been spent in either cunning or dex.

You might as well go ahead and start your DEX thread now :(

I'm going to play a backstabbing rogue who favors two-handed greatswords. I'm stacking Str > Willpower > Cunning.

That's part of the trick... the tooltips used to indicate that it was possible.  The new tooltips have left that bit out of Combat Training description.   Now, it may still do it... just don't know.

Maybe it'll be, oh I don't know, DEX is useless for casters. Maybe it'll be a Cunning thread instead. Who knows? But those are the only two attributes that you haven't started a thread about.

Hey talking about rogues is always gonna be dicey.

Its a major balancing act!! It won't be easy playing a DW rogue.

Will need meticulous planning. Wont be hard but u'll need to organize the whole picture of talents and skills within the limitations of the rogue. And if you play a DW rogue he just wont be as good as a DW warrior. Thats just obvious.

Actually, a DW Rogue will be no worse than a DW warrior because they have access to the same exact talent tree. In fact, a DW Rogue might actually be BETTER due to having a higher starting DEX (and DEX being the main DW attribute).

That would only mean that rogues get to use the tier 4 skills sooner than warriors. However, end-game they would be able to use the same skills and be as good as their rogue counterparts.

But Warriors invest in strength. So they use high dmg weapons. Also Warriors have skills that improve stamina regenration. And most important of all Warriors have better armor.

Your dex based rogue will have to rely on backstab. Even then its not in your control. The games AI decides if you're hit is a backstab or not.

rogues aren't meant to compete with a warrior class. You need to drop that notion and move on. zimble.
