How about your warden is commander and you have to deal with him(i.e. quests, role-play) however you dont play him? Your character could decide to join the Wardens, hence dealing more with the commander or not.

"The warden story ended when he/she sank the blade in the archdemon" DG.
Thats what everyone told me before DA2 came out, that same day bioware staff started trashing DAO, yes I have good memory, every other post was about, how the warden was a BLANK SHEET, how ridiculous the character postures were, ect ect.

DA3 should have a new hero, "there is NO cannon in Dragon age." DG.

Well, the Warden and The Champion both have Flemeth in common. Flemeth no doubt is still looking for Morrigan and or another body that she can cultivate her power in.
Everyone is after the Champion after what happened in Kirkwall.
Flemeth may need someone's help in going after Morrigan and for her revenge against the Warden. Someone powerful.
The Champion may find him or herself in need escape yet again, or maybe another identity, another life.
The Champion is probably one of the most recognizable people in Thedas thanks to Varric and now Cassandra. Maybe Flemeth could offer the Champion something in exchange for his/her special talent for killing powerful foes.
Hmm, the Champion's little elf girlfriend Merrill managed to construct an eluvian mirror...

I wonder if it could have anything to do with The Champion's disappearance.

I don`t want to start with a level 30 character in DA3, so NO. Warden should remain in the past.

Dont be foolish = You would obviously begin from scratch with new abilities to achieve..
All we want is The Warden back & for him to be voiced. I'm sure BioWare could incorperate a 40 min origin story for the Warden & a 40 min origin story for another character for new players with both paths leading to the same event which sparks off the start of DA3's adventure. I want to play my Warden again, a want a couple of cameos but most of all.. MOST OF ALL BIOWARE!.. I WANT HIS HAPPY ENDING WITH LILLIANA !!!!!!!!!!!!!!! >:(

That is exactly what I really wish for!!!
I doubt Bioware will do like this, but I am hoping and praying they will give us a chance to continue on playing the Warden and a new character for people who would like to start something totall new.
Well, but if DA3 will be the way DA2 was I will definitely not buy it since it is not a kind of game I like. I just need more interesting characters and story which were pretty shallow in DA2.

"The Warden is dead" arguments are ridiculous. What do you think the Orlesian Warden is for?  Just because you didn't buy Awakening or the DLCs doesn't mean that those events couldn't have happened anyway.  Basically it would just happen in some canonical way w/o any influence from you.  It's not like Morrigan or The Architect dissapear from existence just because you didn't buy something.

I'd love to see the Warden back. I felt a much stronger connection to the actions of my Warden than I ever have for Hawke.

People complain about Bioware retconning everything in DA2. Would it not be a much bigger retcon if the Hero of Ferelden must be alive in DA3? Or would you only be able to import a living Warden? Would it be like the dead Shepard deal at the end of ME2, where you can't import that because the main character died? Huh.

Personally, I'm not sure about my Warden coming back. She's done plenty. I don't see why she can't just retire or whatever.

Hell yeah. Thread needs The Warden. Hawke is a bit of a fail by comparison.

I was disappointed when i found out that we wouldn't be able to import our character, i kinda expected it because of Mass Effect. I mean, it is such a brilliant idea, why haven't anyone done this before? But now, in Dragon Ages case, i think it might be better to start all over again. I would love to be able to import my DA III character to DA IV but it's too late for the Warden i think. But i don't really want to play as Hawke again either. Sadly, that's probably exactly what is going to happen.

I just have a hunch it will be a new character, which I could be wrong. I can see them adding former companions from DAO and DA2 to travel with you this time.

If they were smart and not such cheapskates they'd have them both play a role.

Have the player create both(character creator) in DA3 along with save import and incorporate them in the story however that may be.

So many possibilities, warden vs champion, warden and champion vs flemeth/morrigan/god child.

I expect a new pc and more retcons though, this is EA afterall.

This are some of my warden faces:

My warden has many beautiful faces but they don't look anything like this:

I don't want BioWare to ruin my warden beautiful faces, my art and my morph creation.

DA 2 made it clear to me that they have no intention to hide default face. It's ruin my first impression and as the consequences I don't feel Hawke as my character.

So no. Leave my Warden alone. I make own warden adventure. Thank you.

You most likely won't play the god child since you have a choice in actually having the child with Morrigan.

But yeah the Warden has to be brought back, Orlesian or Hero of Fereldan. It seems that the story is far from finished, even though most of my Wardens will have a gut from ten years of relaxation. The Warden should go back to level 1 with a few of his/her talents/spells and all of their specialisations. Simply put it if they get rid of the specialisations it'll be a Warden wannabe.

Hawke should at least a) cameo or B) companion it seems that Hawke is a Bioware character since he/she can only have three types of personalities nice, funny and total *****.

A third character??? Uh that will be um kind of annoying because it seems like both Hawke and the Warden are obselete and their actions are just a fill in for this character.

I am personally for Team Warden. Honestly I was disappointed I couldn't play a dwarf in DA2. DA2 came off a bit...meh.

We will see how they would handle any depowering with ME3. I highly doubt that you're going to have a level 60 ME3 character to start.

Mike Laidlaw would never allow it. He spent so much time hyping up the Champion of Kirkwall and his/her rise to power. If he remains lead designer I have no doubt he'll find a way to drop a bus on the Warden in other to have his baby, Hawke back in the limelight.

But just to say, WARDEN FOR DA3 MAIN CHAR! A THOUSAND TIMES!

I hope that DA3 is better than DA2, but I don't think that the problem with DA2 was that it didn't feature the Warden. If they brought back the Warden: 1) people will be ticked if the Warden doesn't look like their Warden (God forbid if the Warden in question was an Elf), 2) people will be ticked that the Warden has a "bad" VA or even a voice at all (again, the Dalish clan your Elf came from now has an Irish accent, so continuity freaks will moan if s/he has the same voice as a human or Dwarf), and 3) the Warden was already boring the hell out of me once s/he earned enough levels to become a god-like killing machine. DA:A became a tired exercise, Golem's only challenge was that the puzzles outdid The Cicle in DA:O, and Witch Hunt was... I forgot.

Why bring the Warden back? My warden would sound weird with a voice after going so long without one, and he's hardly a defined character that deserves one anyway.

Hawke, well, I'd be fine with playing him again, but the series does really need a new hero.

Honestly, I'd really rather not have to deal with my warden, especially considering how sucky he is as a character. No character development or anything, just a massive tool who saved the world because Alistair handcuffed them together and forced them to fight the archdemon.
