Most of the decisions we made in Origins have no affect on DA2, they can write whatever they want into the game, and if there is a DA3, I get the impression Morrigan might be back so I could see a Warden involvement, likely it wont matter, I have no faith in the series anymore.

They can't resurect my character if he died in DA. The only other option would be a generic Warden, and that was not as interesting in the DLC.

Just because you offed your Warden doesn't mean they cannot return. It's fiction. If the writers want to bring back the Warden they can do it without a retcon. Here's an idea off the top of my head:

The Grey Warden who kills the Archdemon does not die. Their spirit leaves their body and fights the Archdemon's spirit in the Fade in order to prevent it from possessing another darkspawn body, sort of like Oma Desala vs. Anubis. Some **** goes wrong and the Warden gets pulled through the Fade into another body, freeing up the Archdemon's spirit to act in a similar role to the OGB.

Problem solved.

I'd very much rather not.

It's not like my Warden died, Awakening's epilogue said that he vanished - which I assume would be sometime after Witch Hunt. Its just that Thedas would feel much smaller then. Much like how Warcraft lore seems to be about 2 islands instead of two continents.

Not half as small as it feels in DA2.

Ugh. Deus ex machinimas. Even worse than an actual retcon.

Please don't force us to play the warden again, the first game has way to many different endings and different things can happen to him/her, it would be stupid to bring that character back especially since we leveled them up so much. It would be silly and it wouldn't work or feel right. There is really nothing else for the character to do.

My warden was a deaf mute who is probably disemboweled in the deep roads by the end of DA 2. Just saying.

You know, while I really enjoyed Origins I'm OK if there is a new protagonist. I thought the Warden's story pretty much played itself out by the end. That being said, I thought Hawke's story was thoroughly uninteresting. I just didn't get into being some local Champion and starting some mage rebellion. It felt like I was just along for the ride and everything that occured was just happenstance. Something along the lines of playing someone else's character in someone else's game.

Give me something epic, but I fear we are due more Hawke as this story is clearly unfinished. Well, it is for me. I'm not going to purchase anything else for DA II as I found simply finishing the game a chore. And I hate, "but wait there's more endings". "Simply purchase all this DLC and you can continue Hawke's story". Ummm... no. I'll pass.

Just don't continue to dumb it down. DA II is already unenjoyable enough. Oh, and please spend more than 3 minutes looking for bugs.

I have lived in the same city for seventeen years, but that in no way stopped me from hearing stories about the entire world.

It wouldn't be the same if every story had the same characters.

Either Flemeth is a main supporting role and party character. OR, DA3 is a prequel set 1000 years prior or however long before it is and basically charts the rise of Flemeth from some lowly peasant girl to the epic sorceress she is now.

I never said it was a good idea. It was only an example. Image IPB

And you're thinking of deus ex machina. Machinima is something entirely different.

No, only PC elitists read stupid dialogue. I want my hero voiced like Shepard. I cannot feel the emotion when I talk if I dont hear anything. Hawke stays.

I agree, the Warden should be voiced in a future sequel. But then again, the lack of voice acting had its upsides as well. I'll leave that up to BioWare.

But the Warden cannot be voiced because he/she does not have a preset history like Hawke. That means the dialogue will be far more complex & complex dialogue requires too much resources to be fully voiced. I do not want complex dialogue trees L0Lz I want the outcome of my dialogue to be the same even if I choose to be a jerk, that way I won't have to replay the game to see everything. So Hawke stays, fully voiced and with the same number of choices. What they should improve is the apperance of icons in the wheel that are not usually there, those are confusing! I don't want to have to think about what my character is going to say! I just look at the icons and sit back watch the convo, that is a lot more enjoyable.

Man-Giraffe-Dog has been spotted! It's all over the news! MGD is the greatest threat to mankind ever and I've come

here to warn you! Here's Proof (person who took the picture was brutally killed 5 seconds after taking it)

Still Super Duper Serial.

what if are warden is dead? Zombie warden?

Some retconning is in order, then. Alistair or Loghain died, or Morrigan's ritual was carried out. Your Warden didn't die.

because people love it when your biggest choice of a game is completely disregarded

couldn't you just start a totally different warden or continue with the orlesian one.

ummm. maybe like in awakening. if your warden dies in DAO you play another warden in awakening.

why not be given a choice on what character you want to play.

New lead I hope. I like voiced better but I hope they get a longer development time and put origins back in. I don't need five possibles but three would be nice. Very resource consuming to do with a voiced protagonist, I really don't like the idea of a dwarf talking the same as a human or a human like an elf (Not sure why, but the idea just doesn't click with me), but maybe if they limited the number...

I want my Warden to remain as he is. He's earned a lifelong vacation with Leliana after the whole Blight business.

I didn't really mind having the story take place around one city, but I'd prefer it if we could branch out a bit. Not even a whole country, but a bit more would be nice.

Basically I want them to find a middle-ground between what was best in DA:O and what was best in DAII.

I guess that turned into a general DA3 wish list didn't it?

The Warden always had the "I need to poop" look on his/her face. No thanks. I need a voice.

OHH.JEE.BEE.

And frankly, I don't care about those buttmonkeys who say "But my warden didn't DO the Dark ritual...he did like a moron rather than nailing this hot chick!."

well guess what @ssholes, you can play an Orlesian "biff the understudy" for all I care, the rest of us will play OGB.
