Yup, me too. Cold-Blooded was a hefty 86g, but well worth it.MortalEngines wrote...
Only once, from the trader in the Wounding Coast who has one of the best staffs at the game (at a hefty price). Otherwise the best gear game from quests.

Actually, i really can't remember a game with money where i'd actually use it. TES 3/4: Loot. Fallout series: Loot. KOTOR: Loot. Mass Effect: Loot.

This was me. Completely annoyed I missed the ones in act 1 though.Tamcia wrote...
Half way through the game I accidently learned about armor upgrades for companions, spent an hour trying to get them. Also bought the + points books or smth- they were not even books as in DA:O, just straight up upgrades... Also potions, recipes.
Equipment? No, useless mostly.

Indeed, a bonus plus was that it looked pretty awesome.

I refused to touch my signature edition / pre-order / whatever bonus items or to sell them (though I sort of failed to stick to that when doing one of Sebastian's quests, which reaped disproportionate rewards in the form of green items).

Being able to change my face/hair/color on my console is kinda worth it to me. YMMV though.Dadvio wrote...

Edit: Companion armors are more like upgrades, not actual new sets.

Where did you guys find companion armor? The hell did I miss? lol. I was constantly updated my apparel and stocking on potions. I also bought weapons earlier in the game until I realized the looted ones were lethal.
Check every store at least once in every act. Sometimes it's in the Armor section, but sometimes it's under the "gem" icon.
A good number of the armor upgrades are found during companion sidequests, however.

I think the best vendor items were off the more hidden ones (disused passage, Wounded Coast). And those are certainly priced accordingly. A few decent accessories off the mainstream vendors, but nothing that wasn't replaced in a following act or later drop.
I rarely ran out of money once the lady across from Martin started rewarding me. Though as an OCD looter/completionist, I did have to put off buying all the vendor-sourced Qunari swords for awhile (preferred the 1200xp per over the 100xp & crap silver per).
