I've found a lot of information on a mouse "calibration" error. But I've been experiencing a different mouse-related error and I wanted to see if anyone else had the same problem.
During battle I can't select enemies and my AOE targeting circles get stuck and won't change position. In this case, if I switch to another character their targeting might still be functioning. If I can activate at least one skill from an ally - then the system seems to reset itself.
However, many time I've switched to all characters within my party - and I've failed to regain targeting. In this instance I've tried using potions and healing spells - and they seem to reset the mouse targeting somehow. Worst case scenario - I reload the game before the battle.
This comes up during exploration as well. I check with the "tab" key to make sure doors are really interactive. But my mouse will sometimes decide not to recognize them. I usually switch to other party members until someone can open the door. This happens with Chests as well - I typically use the "R" shortcut key - it never fails.
Is anyone else experiencing this error? I've only found mouse calibration posts - so I am curious to know if this is an isolated or broader issue. Thanks!

This error occurs regardless of how long I've been playing my game. Today, I started the game and encountered a targeting issue in the first battle. Sure, it gets more problematic the longer I play - but restarting doesn't really help that much.

yes i'm getting this bug in fullscreen mode only, if i play in a windowed mode it is not occuring.
But in Fullscreen, the mouse cursor does not target objects. very annoying.

Thanks for the advice - I'd rather play windowed than deal with this every 5 mintues.

It's a known bug. I believe they're working on a fix. For now, I recommend this work-around that has worked for others: If you look at the character portraits on the lower-right, when the targeting error pops up, some of are stuck highlighted. Pass the mouse over the highlighted ones until they're no longer highlighted. Once no more portraits are highlighted, targeting should work normally. The bug has different triggers for different people, but the most common ones are related to selecting characters by clicking on their portraits followed by rotating the camera by holding down the right mouse button.
