I've reinstalled and redownloaded the game 4 or 5 times now, and every time I get this same message:

Game Launch Error:
There is a problem with your game's setup. Please reinstall your game.

The first time I downloaded and installed the game, it was working fine except the DLC was all unauthorized (which is very common I hear). So I downloaded the DAUpdater diagnostic and ran it, and that's when the above message began. Like I said, I've deleted the entire DA:O folder and redownloaded the game 4 or 5 times now with no luck.

Anyone have any ideas?

1) Make sure you have the latest version of EADM. Should be 7.3.2.14
2) Run EADM "as an administrator" if you have Vista/Win 7, even if you're Windows account is an admin.
3) After you uninstall the game, do a reboot and use something like CCCleanup to clear out registry keys before reinstalling
4) DLC authorization issues are usually NOT EADM related. If you're using the original version of Origins, patch it to 1.04 before launching the game. If you have Ultimate Edition, it's already patched.
5) Lots of links about unauthorized DLC in the link attached to my sig, below.

Hope that gets you started. Good luck!

My 6th reinstall did not work with just the reboot and "Run as Administrator". I have uninstalled again, uninstalled/reinstalled EADM (latest version confirmed), ran CCleaner to delete registry keys, and am currently downloading the game again as Administrator.

Will update as soon as the download finishes in ~4 hours.

After finishing with all of the above suggestions, I'm still receiving the same message.

Game Launch Error:
There is a problem with your game's setup. Please reinstall your game.

I'm able to directly open the launcher from the folder and run the configuration menu, but as soon as I hit "Play", I get the above message.

Anyone else have any ideas?

In the absence of other error indications, this will occasionally happen with certain pieces of hardware. Please summarize your system components:

Basic Hardware Specification Chart (Empty so far)

Processor Manufacturer: AMD / Intel
Processor Name / Type: Athlon X2 / Pentium D / C2D / dual core / quad, etc.
Processor Speed: ?.? Ghz
Operating System / Service Pack: WindowsXP with SP #?, Win7, Vista ?
System RAM: ? ? GBs (MBs, if less than 1024 ? )
Video (GPU) Manufacturer: ATI / Nvidia (only those two are supported, PERIOD, so please answer which of them you have)
Video Card Model: (examples) Radeon HD 5670 / Geforce GT 240
Video Card Driver Version: Catalyst ?.? / Nforce ??.??
. . (please use the numbers, and dates, *not* the word "latest")
Video Card onboard RAM: ? ? ? MBs
Sound Card Manufacturer:
Sound Card Model:

(And this is only for the raw hardware & driver variations. Potential software conflicts are far more likely to be game play problems, and developers cannot test for all possible program loads.)

P. S. Please use every day business style paragraph breaks, punctuation, and spelling.

Intel
Core i5-750 quad-core
2.67gHz
Windows 7 64bit
4 GB RAM
ATI Radeon HD 5850 1024mb
Catalyst Version 10.10
Driver version 8.782-100930m-106233C-ATI
On-Board Sound hardware (no card)

I sincerely doubt this is a hardware issue, seeing as I was able to open the game perfectly on my first installation. After trying to fix the unauthorized DLC problem through various means, this issue started occurring.

I do agree, but is there any reason to not update into this winter's graphics driver version? (11.2)

Also, I am pretty sure I remember there being a case of missing files that ought to show up in a Google Search using your thread's subject line, plus the redirector aimed back here:

After a long-winded conversation with a Tier 2 support tech, he believes the problem is a corrupted digital download. He's set me up with a new digital download and told me to manually uninstall EA DM and DA:O and then try it with the new digital copy.

Will update in ~5 hours when download finishes.

After reinstalling EADM again and reinstalling DA:O using a fresh digital copy, I'm still getting the same error message.

Any other ideas?

I was able to convince customer support to refund my digital copy and give me a discount on a physical copy to match the sale price that I bought mine at. Hopefully this problem was something involving a corrupted digital file or an EADM-specific problem and the disc version installs with no issues.

Hmm I am also having the same issue with DA:O I have DA:2 and there have been no issues with other games I have bought and downloaded. I managed to get the game to run once on an older pc but as soon as I tried to get the DLC dowloaded it went screwy and gave me this message again.

Game Launch Error:
There is a problem with your game's setup. Please reinstall your game.

And it still does not work, no matter how many times I un-install it redownload it and install it again! I have tried CCCleanup and have made sure there is no traces of the game left on my pc when I re-install it and yet I still get the same message....this is getting rather old...
