''No Enchantment''.

he froze an Ogre without any enchanment. that means, if we listen to him (why would he lie ?), he did it himself. Also the fact that he can do enchantments, this art is mage art, made by tranquils because they are disconnected of the Fade like the dwarves.

I want sandal as a Companion in DA3.  ENCHANTMENT !!!!!!!!!!!

Sandal is a joke. He was stuck at the end of the game so you could sell stuff and get some potions before the boss fight.

Human and Elf with magic power disable have mental problem. Make sense Dwarven with magic would have the same.

That doesn't change my response.

Sandal is a joke.

He was stuck at the end of the game (DA:O) so you could sell stuff and get some potions for the boss fight.

He returned in DA II because 1) he serves a useful function and 2) people liked him.

That's the Doyalian view. The Watsonian view demands an in-character explaination.

Sandal is... something. Maybe he's a dwarf mage. Maybe he's just discovered uses for Lyrium no one else ever has. Maybe (crazy theory Y). We simply don't know yet.

Maybe we never will.

I personally think he is King Maric, and Flemeth made him into Sandal as the promise he made.

On a more serious note, I hope it explains it later.

Does anyone else think that Sandal is a possible halfbreed ? They guy is a dwarf, and when i think about it, when was the last time you saw a perfectly clean shaven dwarf ??? That and over the years that DA:O, and DA2 span, i havent seen a single facial hair even make an attempt to break the surface of his skin on the dwarven fellow. He is clearly not your typical Dwarf !

His parents are unknown, maybe he just has OCD and shaves every few hours, but maybe he has parents that are Dwarf, and Elven (no facial hair here !), which leads him to being "magic sensitive" but perhaps his dwarf side prevents him from being taken in by spirits/demons. It might also explain why he was found in the deep roads "abandoned".

Say for instance his parents are a Dwarf and Elf, given the insanely strict caste`s etc etc, it wouldnt be too hard to believe that a dwarven son would be abandoned because it may "bring the family name down" in Orzammar.

I haven't read the novels or played awakening yet, that said, we know elf/human children exist - Feynriel but I don't recall any dwarf/human or elf/dwarf. I suppose it's possible.

"One day the magic will come back. All of it. Everyone will be just like they were. The shadows will part and the skies will open wide. When he rises, everyone will see."

Bodahn freaked out when he said this in the estate. Sandal is not normal in any way.

o.0 I've never heard Sandal say this... at all, ever.

It's kinda funny in a way; in DA:O the impression I got from Bodahn (at least, initially) was that he only cared about Sandal in the sense that Sandal represents a huge business opportunity... or maybe that's just cynical me speaking.

In DA2 though it sounded to me more as if he was a concerned father, especially after he calls the Circle 'vultures' in that they wanted Sandal to remain, and generally the concern he shows for Sandal when he disappeared in the Deep Roads.

I thought the same, and i thought i was cool that Bodahn kinda "redeemed himself" in my eyes, even tho it may have not been intended.
