Hello all.
General thing why i love DA or ME1-2 is the companions and many many talks with them. I really liked spend a lot of minutes (or hours) in discusions with them. Especially with Morrigan. I love her haracter and i hoped that DA2 give me more familiar dialoges. But in fact DA2 offers to players more motion and companions's stories in compare with DA, but really a few deep talks and learning their characters. The player become attached of all companions in general, but the game don't let him learn his favor companion deep and well. For example, sometimes I was tired from battles and wanted to go in silence place to talk with somebody. DA1 gave me chance to rest, DA2 doesn't. Why the game doesn't let the player talk with his companions when he/she want? For what to terminate time for dialoges?
Of course the game make me feel many feelings. And I felt with my companions. But if compare my relations with companions from DA and DA2, than i self-confidently can say that DA in 3-4 times better did this job.
Don't understand me wrong. I like DA2. This is great game. But i really hope that Bioware will fix this situation in the next Dragon Age game.
Please SORRY for my bad English. I am not from "English country"...

I see your point and i was rather unhappy that I couldnt just talk to them and be all like: how you doing? Whats your past?
But I think its because bioware didnt want the relationships to be rushed. In DAO you could get approval very quickly just by sucking up to them. In DA2 you get approval from what choices you make and at some point everyone companion has an item that means a lot to them.
I could get Alistair's approval up to max by the time I reached camp for the first time. In DA2 it frustrated me that I couldnt suck up to Anders to get him to love me. But it makes sence that their relationships grow over the years.

I get what your saying to a degree but companions hanging out in cut scenes compensated for that in my opinion. We Isabel playing cards with Merril, Aveline listening to one of Isabel's stories, Isabel trying to tempt Bianca away from Varric... wait a minute all these scenes have Isabel in them. Either she is in everything or my mind is just focused on her.

Yes, of couse DA1 give to players opportunity to get companion's approval up to max by the little time. But was this a must? No. A player could develop his relations with partners with speed he had choice himself. For example, I had only one short talk with every my companion every time after a big mission. On mission I had been exhausted and i wanted to relax from battles in difficult and deep discussion with companions i liked (Morrigan, Venn, etc.). I restrained myself from too fast extension in relations and I loved this liberty.
I think i'm not going to buy DA3, if the new game would be so "flat" with companion's relations and talks. For me this is epic fail, because i loved DA1 for three things: Story (clever and detail), Companions (dialoges!), and Aura (atmosphere, blood, cheer, climate, "i don't know this word in English"). If Bioware wouldn't offer one of that in the next their game. This would be terrified. =( DA2 hasn't a section of Companions.
P.s. Please SORRY for my bad English. I am not from "English country"...

Hmm.... I think that I prefer the new way with scenes =) I love that they move and have body language. And the romance scenes with Fenris, Anders and Merrill are wonderful. The wall-kiss with fenris, jupp, moves are good =) I haven had time to romance Izzy yet but my husband liked her romance arc very much. I can never restrain myself to not 'use up' all my conversations pretty fast in DA:O. So I usually have very quiet companions by the end of the game. Anders and Varric discussing marches is also very sweet =)
