Really, there's not much replay value at all. I've played through DAO many times, racking up several hundreds of hours of gameplay, but in this game I'm struggling to keep going on my second playthrough.

I don't really appreciate dark, gloomy stories, but for my first playthrough I thought it was alright. But I really prefer ENJOING my games, and I occasionally did the first time around, and when I ran into sad occurences I figured I could do better my next playthrough.

But now on my second playthrough, I'm just not feeling it. It seems more and more as if whatever I choose I can't bring enjoyment into the game. The things I wanted to change seems set in stone, and the things I can change are inconsequential in that they all lead to the same thing.

And the writers are going way overboard with trying to show both good and bad sides of Templars/Mages. If blood magic worked the way they show it in DA2, then there would be nothing but demons left in Tevinter.
Mages turning to blood magic is way too common, and they become abominations much to quickly. I mean, I get it. Magic can be dangerous. And then the writers decided to take this excess and throw some more on it by killing off mother. I 've read around and I've tried myself, but it seems there is no way to save her. Your given the illusion of choice, but no matter what you choose it still ends the same. And many "choices in the game work just like that.
In DA:o you feel more like you're in control, playing a game and your choices matter. In DA2 your mostly just being thrown around between idiots and the occasional tragic event.

DA2 makes some rights and some faults, and it breaks some things that where working just fine. Gameplay wise I mostly like it, the menus/UI could really need some work though, and also equipment. I find those stars on equipment to be pure crap. Varric = Best companion in the DA world so far. Anders... = worst companion, but that doesn't mean he's the worst character. I would have prefered it if he wouldn't have been a companion at all, but rather just another major quest character.

Anyways, hoping for better, less gloomy story in DA3. Without any terrorists as companions.
And that someone finds some difficult, strange, mindboggling way of saving my mother from becoming Miiss Frankenstein.

Well DA2 satisfied the dark and bloody part (and the derp part thanks to the first enchanter), so... where did the RPG element come in?  Cause I see a lotta linear question with some talking in the middle.

@Sinvx, You seem to have stopped reading after I said I don't appreciate dark, gloomy stories. Right after that I did say I enjoyed it my first playthrough. I do however feel that there's to much unavoidable tragedy in the game. My gripe is less with the setting with the game and more with the replayability compared to DAO. And no need to bring up the different origins, because most my playthroughs was human noble.

I read the whole thing, my response was to your "Anyways, hoping for better, less gloomy story in DA3" comment.

@Sinvx, I didn't mention dark there though, doesn't need to be gloomy just because it's dark.

Meh, I see the two in the same way, gloomy is depressing sad, which are dark emotions, along with tradegy.

I think another reason you're bored of this game so fast is the simple fact that everything in this game is recycled.

I'm right there with you where I've played through DA:O several times with an accumulated play time of well over 200 hundred hours.

In DA:O I didn't mind the bad graphics because every zone had a different color palette and each zone was like it's own season.

In Dragon Age 2, everything is rehashed with doors closed to stop you from seeing it all in one run through. It's stupid and just shows us that BioWare was forced to shove this game out as fast as possible. . . It's sad. . . here's to hoping Mass Effect 3 wont do the same!
