I for one welcome the new Direction for Daragonage 3.
In order to appeal to a larger base the game will focus on more generalized and universally accepted genre "Feast Day" or Thanksgiving.

Follow the intricate and epic story line to get Dinner ready.
The story takes place exclusively at the Balls residence. The opening scene starts off with the main character, and his family seated around a table.Note there is no clearly defined antagonist; it is up to the player to discover why he/she is there.
There are new characters seated around the table which the main character can choose to take with him/her. "Blue”,"Itchy”, and "Sweaty" are among a few of the family members seated around the table. Each fully voiced. I particularly enjoyed the character "Blue", her shy and awkward demeanor, really added a depth and attachment to her character rarely realized in modern video gaming.

The game immediately pulls the character into the game, and does a wonderful job of immersing the player into the world by offering Riveting dialogue options via the dialogue wheel such as.
"When is Dinner ready?"
"Where is the bathroom?"
And the tension and anticipation truly starts to build when Grandpa stands up and offers the first quest option.
 "Where are my teeth?"
Which starts a frenetic and action packed search, of the home.
Though the entire game is located at one residence the graphic detail of the home more than makes up for this perceived shortcoming.

You can literally see the onions in the stuffing pouring out of the turkey as it is brought to the table.  I was immediately hungry And truth be told, had to pause the game to get a sandwich.

At first i was a little disappointed when i discovered that they had reused the bathroom several times inside the house. Merely omitting the vanity in some instances, sometimes there was a shower, the dripping faucet in bathroom number 6 however blew me away The amount of detail and obvious care given to the echoing of the drip as the water slowly and ominously disappeared down the dark and foreboding drain Left me wondering, "Man what is down there". And i immedialty jumped on the offer to buy the "Sewer of the unknown” DLC.
Not all of the action is limited to the house however. I don't want to add any spoilers to the review. But in act 2 the party is given the option to Foray into the back yard.

The Environment is markedly different than the inside of the house. The unkempt lawn, and the abandoned turtle pool are but a few of the Locals available for exploration. The rusty swing set is among my favorite destinations, the incessant screeching of metal on metal as the swings blow freely in the cool night air. Adds a feeling of impending doom and building anxiety.

Dragon Age 3 also offers a new and exciting combat system. Gone are the days needlessly maneuvering and casting spells and combat arts. Now the game features complex skill advancement Trees specific to the 2 classes available in the game. Low level abilities like "I ll try to win “can be upgraded as the character advances in level, to "I should WIN”, "Can you play for me" and culminates and an awesome graphical and tactical experience at high levels as you can summon Charlie Sheen and his Adonis ancestors to breath warlock fire on your foes = "Winning".

I also appreciated Biowares decision to appeal to an as of yet untapped market by allowing you to romance your own family. The market is there "You know who you are". Also if you explore enough there is a Side quest in bathroom number 7 to romance yourself, which i found refreshing as the conversations to romance others i found sometimes mentally draining.
Overall i found the gameplay fluid and memorizing, defiantly a "Coup de Triomphe" for Bioware. I am holding my breath and have money in hand waiting for the release scheduled for next week.

Well done!!   9.5 out of 10!

Dear website,

I always trust your brilliant and thorough reviews and have only one question:

Can I play as Chuck Norris in this incarnation of Dragon Age?

You forgot to mention the Mabari DLC where you can take it for walks around the neighborhood. Since most streets look exactly the same, they can just reuse the props.

It's not so tragic compared against what actual journalists wrote about the game.

'A new setting yields new scope: as art director on the series, Matt Goldman makes regular reference to a new, ‘hotrodded’ art style. “Marketing told me to say that,” he sighs.'

“The props are to help give context for what the area is, but overall I’d say Dragon Age 2 is a lot more minimalist looking. The intent is to create a strong personality without getting in your face and without distracting you with all these details that don’t really do anything – they just screw up your path line and make shadows a lower resolution.”

Last I've heard they're still 'debating' whether to make the Dragon Age 3 protagonist human-only, as opposed to deciding to revert back to the race selection of the previous game.

I'll say it first: Dragon Age 3 -- human-only with 3 preset backgrounds/origins (hint, hint).
