Digging through the forums, I'm seeing a lot of scattered reports of corrupted save games. In the interest of
making these easier to identify and track, please post the details to
this central sticky.

In particular, we'll want to know what type
of Xbox you're playing on, where you're saving your games, what region
of the world you're playing in, what DLC you have installed, and
whether you're playing off the disc or an install of some sort.

Thanks!

Warewolf vs. Dalish Assassin... warewolf was not changed to human in save game, he is a human now.
Avernus lives? Killed Avernus in Warden's Keep, rumors were spread about him regardless.
Sebastian Exclaims that the Architect is alive, killed him during this save import. Annoying.Posted Image

250 gb Xbox, saves on harddrive
United States, all DLC installed, playing off the disk.

Question, does the race of the Warden influence any quests? I'm wondering because my save import is the Dwarf Noble on my avatar here and I do not remember when/if it talks about the race.

Model Xbox: 2008 Zephyr with 120gb Hard drive. I'm saving games to my hard drive.
What region: United States, Southern
DLC I have: Exiled Prince, Emporium, Fadeshear, Lion of Orlais. All I don't have pretty much is Isaac armor and some of the facebook items from Legends. I got the Signature addition.
And I have the game installed to my harddrive.
I imported a Dalish Elf (From Witch Hunt) that had Alistar do the ritual.

It's worth noting that I don't seem to be having trouble with any other games, so it doesn't appear to be my hard drive as far as I can tell. Thanks for making this thread =).

I'm playing in the U.S. on a...
XBOX Elite 120gig
DA II Game is installed on the hard drive; when the option to import DA game save is chosen, no game save data is found.
I have completed DA with all DLC installed. Why can't I import DA game save data?
No other issues at the moment.

Save frequently.
AlL Signature Edition DLC, Ring of Whispers, Staff of Parlathan, Haydar's Razor, Fadeshear, Lion of Orlais.
Playing off disc.

I haven't done any testing but is it possible  that this happens if you beging the save process and then move into an area that triggers autosave? Some of my corrupted files include saves in Hawke's Mansion and one before movong to the area for the All That Remains Act 2 quest (don't remember exactly when).

Xbox 360 Elite, 250 GB Hard Drive...
I have played with it installed to my hard drive and off the disc itself.
I have the Signature Edition with the Lion of Orlais shield and fadeshear.

This has happened to me twice.  First time I had completed my first playthrough all the way through with no problems.  I had started my second playthrough and near the end of Act 1 I got a loading screen where I could see the minimap in the upper right hand corner.  I could pause the game but it had the loading screen overlay on it.  Nothing would happen.  Upon reloading my xbox all my save files were corrupted including the saves from my previous run-through.  I then restarted the game AGAIN...I managed to make it all the way through to the beginning of Act III and then after I beat "Mine Massacre" I got the same loading screen overlay and was unable to do anything. Upon reloading the game again, all my save files were corrupted.
I think it's ridiculous and I won't be playing DA2 anymore, and I definitley won't be buying any DLC that comes out in the future.  This was proabably the most highly anticipated game of the year personally for me but has now turned into one of the most frustrating and disapointing gaming experiences ever for me.

Exile Prince DLC
America
Playing a disc saving to hard drive
I stopped it while it was loading the Bone Pit ledge because things appeared to be happening (losing stamina and health) even though I was still on the loading screen. I gave it a few minutes and when it didn't resolve I reloaded the game. Fortunately my other saves were fine so I only lost about 90 minutes.

Xbox 360 Slim w/ 250GBHDD;
Dragon Age 2 Signature Edition here;
I have most of the extras unlocked as well as both the Black Emporium and the Exiled Prince DLCs installed;
I'm play off the hard drive;
I'm using the USB Stick for my game saves;
Europe, Lithuania.

Two of my game saves have been corrupted so far.
#1: I went from the Lowtown to the Hightown and the game autosave'd here. Also, I made the manual save and once the saving-process icon was gone, I opened my DVD-tray thus exiting the game. When I loaded my game, that manual game save file was corrupted.
#2: I was exploring the Chantry in the Act I, reading the codex entries and saving manually. One of my saves got corrupted.

NOTE #1!! Corrupted saves DO NOT display the picture of your screen, taken at the saving moment. And usually it takes up to 2 sec for the picture to appear in the Load Menu.  So, if no picture appears and there's no other info, i.e. your location, save date etc., it means that the following game save file is corrupted.

NOTE #2!! I have rewritten both of the corrupted saves and the new saves have worked fine so far :-)

If any of you had played Fallout New Vegas, there was a good tip back then -> once you save your game, load that save to make sure it's not corrupted. In DA2 case, you DO NOT need to reload your game now -> just go to the Load Menu and check if your latest save displays the picture and other info ;-) If no, make another save right away. I hope it helps and the issue gets fixed soon overall :-)

It only happened once when I was going in the cave to talk down the apostates for that one nice Templar(Can't remember name. You helped him out with hiding that his daughter became an abomination). I walked into the cave and when the loading was finished the actual screen for loading stayed up so I couldn't see my character. I could hear the other characters attacking and talking. I could hear the enemies dying. Strangely enough the minimap was placed over the frozen loading screen and I could see my arrow move around as I moved. I could even fight (I think). It was the loading screen with the person with the sword and a really long headpiece or something. (I really don't know how to explain it better. It had one man/woman holding a sword and a headpiece that was flowing all the way out of the screen). Since this was too bothersome I went to load my game. The auto-save, and all 3 of my saves were corrupted as was the ability to restart act 2. I shat myself and quickly turned off my console. I turned it back on, started the game back up, and went to my saves. At this point only the autosave for walking into the cave and the manual save before the cave, and after talking to the Templar, were corrupted. The other 2 saves, and the restart the act were up and running fine. I reloaded the save I had before I talked to the Templar and finished talking to him again; went into the cave and it loaded fine. I learned a very long time ago to always have 2 saves running parallel and a save around 5 hours back, just in case sometime like this happens.

I'm on a normal (white) Xbox that came with the 20 ish gig harddrive. I upgraded it to the 60ish harddrive about a year ago.

Edit: I live in the States as well. I don't think that has to do with anything though I'm just being cautious.

 System: X-Box 360 (I can't remember the exact type, but it was lone of the original versions that came without a hard drive...)

Loaded and played the game from the Hardr Drive.

Signature addition, and all DLC.

Region: Wounded Plains

Act II: Ran into quest where some guards are pinned down by some mages.  I saved and reloaded only to have that entire file, and every saved game with it, corrupted...  Not a single one to load.  Almost 40 hours gone... :(

I don't know if it was relevant, but I was playing offline at the time.

  I would also like to note that I turned off the game and then deleted a file that I had saved after having a save failure earlier.  It may be coincidence but I was able to load my latest save after that.

****SPOILERS****
I have completed the game.

When loading the post completed save file, I am in my house and I am arguing with meredith for some strange reason but she isnt there. The camera zooms in on the wall. It is the conversation for the final battle.  Its acting out a part of the game in the wrong location. Gives me the conversation options then locks up after I make my choices. Sadly I spent 43+ hours playing a game that has now been corrupted.

Xbox 360 250 Slim.
Signature Edition
All DLC for Signature Downloaded.

Xbox 360 arcade, 60gb HHD, played on the disk, with Black Emporium DLC w/t Mabari. Region: UK

I save frequently. It's like a compulsion.

It happens when I try to load my most recent save file, and I have to load either one of my own previous saves, or load the auto save. It also happened when my character model (Hawke) has an animation glitch, where his arms stay in the battle-ready stance. It stayed like that when I went into different areas, so I tried to load a previous save, and it was corrupted.

Im afraid thats not necessarily the case, all of my saves were corrupted and all but two showed the picture.   I cant be certain but try deleting the one/ones without a pic and see if your other saves will load. When I deleted a file I suspected of being the problems my other saves were able to load again.

Xbox 360, 2nd generation (the black version) with HD output- 120 gb hard drive- all DLC installed- playing off of disk. No serious corruption, but timestamps are all off usually being marked either July or August 2011. It also seems random, dating and displaying game saves out of order. Checked my system clock and it's working correctly.

One save did become corrupt. When I loaded it, the textures were covered in multi-colored splotches. Finding and returning to a precious save fixed the problem.

Save Location: Hard drive

Playing off: The Disc
My save state July 2011 and 5 hours off. My xbox settings are correct though. Some decisions are not transfering. My codex tells me Nathaniel and others died at the Vigil but the Vigil was maxed out in defenses but the epilogue says otherwise.

I think GavinHawk stumbled on a fix for many of us.

I have an XBOX 360 Elite.  Regular edition with the DLC that gives me the wardog and with all free items for liking DA on Facebook and for signing up for the newsletter.

I had the error where I left an area and it failed to load Hightown.  I could hear my characters, I could move around, but the loading screen never went away, and I could see the mini-map as well.  I did exactly what GavinHawk did.  I went back, deleted the autosave from the place I was to Hightown, and after that my old save games work 100% fine.

Both my manual save and auto save were corrupted when I tried loading them, so I turned the Xbox off, waited an hour, then started it up again and tried loading the save file and it worked fine. I don't know if this will work every time/for everyone, but it's a possible solution to try out until there's a fix for the problem.

Just got my second corrupted save today.. I always wait until its done saving before I turn it off, but anyway..

System: Xbox 360 Arcade w/ 60 GB HDD
Save Location: Hard drive
Region: USA
DLC: The Prince, Blood Dragon Armor, Black Emporium, and the three free tomes.
Playing off: The disc

My first problem was awhile ago so I'm not sure, I think it was during a companion quest on Act 1. My second save was just after completing the part of Averlines quest where Hawke forces her to talk to her crush at the Wounded Coast. Honestly without autosaves I'd be pretty pissed...
