I rushed to judgement over the direction of DA2. I assumed the series was being "dumbed down" to sell to more customers, and that the western RPG as we knew it was a dying breed. When I played the demo, I had criticisms out the wazoo. I was vocal about them, and I got upset when the developers lashed out at those who did.

Having finished DA2, I can think of only a few games that have invoked such an emotional response from me or kept me as entertained the whole way through. As corny as this sounds, I'm sorry.

I sincerely hope the developers know that they made a great game, all this disappointment nonsense aside. I would be severely let down if you let all this complaining get to you and you really do dumb down the game for them. The story was deep, ethical, and challenged me as a person and player. The battle system was as complicated, if not more complicated than DA:O. And all my little complaints I had from the demo were nowhere to be found as soon as an hour into the game.

I hope time shows you your work was not in vain. A lot of us really, really enjoyed this game. I look forward to the DLC (which is something I never thought I'd say!!)

the VA for hawke is extremely unemotional. the 2 choices at the ending mean the same thing.
this game seriously does not deserve over a 7.

I actually feel dirty for loving DA2. I never felt like this before but it's because the hate has been spamming the forums. I feel like i'm not allowed to enjoy the game

There are some issues with the game but your comments on the story are spot on. It is a significantly more intellectual, original and mature story than DAO. In fact I think this is the best all round story of any game since Vampire:Bloodlines.

Agreed. I too am enjoying the game and the series as a whole. There are a few things that should be adjusted for part 3 but all in all, I enjoy the game. Personally though, until the forums die down with the nonsense allowing for the ones who do enjoy the game to come a discuss it like an adult, I am personally going to go elsewhere. I just really don't want to spend my time reading about complaints. The last thing I need is drama when it comes to a video game.

Wow so in DA:O Deep Roads is a place that makes people hate the game but in DA 2 its a place that makes people love the game?

It's a very good game, it's just not nearly as great of a game as DA:O was.

I finished it. I enjoyed dragon age origins and i know its a fan favourite. Your going to get a lot of trolls for this post but i agree with it 100% The decisions the charactors i've never felt more in touch with a game than ever before. Thank you for this post, it shows im not the only one that loves the game on this forum full of trolls.

Compared to the first game it is a dumbed down

I'm not a DA:O fan but I have the game and play for hours but it bored me because I never fancy the fantasy set-up I prefer something like Mass Effect.

DA2 was great but i got bored after chapter 2 since main quests are short and few and from what I've heard from my friend who already finished the game, it's fairly short made you think "That's it?" out loud.

also there is such a lack of depth in this story, so much happened in 1 year in DAO but in 10 years in DA2 it feels much less.

How people can have such low standards is the only thing that continually amazes me about the debacle that is DA2.

I will also take this time to apologize to Bioware, I am so sorry that your company has become a soulless shell of it's former self and I am also sorry that your company is now staffed by people with either no passion for their jobs or no talent.

This OP account was clearly created by Bioware last year because they knew they ****ed up DA2. So they've had this "person" posting to build up a rep and whatnot as a normal person.

Tisk tisk bioware. (totally kidding). But this game has no emotion or story to me. It's ****ing boring. I'd rather watch flies ****.
