If you were so critical about the demo, then why did you buy the game at release?

DA2 Deep Roads were streamlined. You're only there for about 15 minutes, tops.

Maselphie, I disagree. Register and play the first game and then play the second and you will concur with many of those who dislike the second game. The first game I played through 5 times. The sequel, I can barely bring myself to try a second time through. It's too streamlined. The talents/specs were done well, but the story, overall - sucks as a narrative. Also no matter your choices you still get the same basic outcomes. Screw that.

Bethany's death was so badly executed, I snapped the disc in half.

There were plenty of emotionally wrenching moments, including other events that happen to your family (which I will not detail since this is the spoiler-free area), and...events that involve your companions. That's assuming that A) the player doesn't have a heart of stone and B) isn't a troll with an irrational hatred of the game.

So you think that if someone dislikes the game they must be wrong?  They can't just have differant tastes?

I'll take this a step further.  Those who are complaining probably aren't real cRPG fans.

Despite the combat,  this game has an old school cRPG feel to it.  Like BG1.  The number of subquests that flood your character....  the choices you can make.....  the way the convoluted plots and subplots  tie together.  The  "I'm-overwhelmed-with-things-to-do feel".

It has it all.

Yes, kiddies.  Call me a fanboi  (as if that's some sort of insult  lol).  a Game has to EARN my fanboi status.    And DA2 managed to do that about 10 minutes after I hit the big city.

Stop posting spoilers, people. (And don't quote them and then bold them, lol.)

This OP account was clearly created by Bioware last year because they knew they ****ed up DA2. So they've had this "person" posting to build up a rep and whatnot as a normal person.

Tisk tisk bioware. (totally kidding). But this game has no emotion or story to me. It's ****ing boring. I'd rather watch flies ****.

Feel free to search my posts, you will find I had some rather thick anti-Bioware posts. But I can see how you'd be paranoid. ;) I thought the same thing when someone said the same thing back before I played. Like, this one video reviewers was like "[all of our concerns] and I I realized I was being an idiot." Made me feel like they paid him to say that.

BUT. You know what? I really do feel like an idiot.

reading the threads here, i feel like i need to apologize too, for enjoying da2 at both face value and on a contextual level in the world of thedas. i look forward to my own role as player being the maker 2.0 in more games and hope that the direction away from good-evil struggles is maintained. the game is not want for waves of 'baddies' but i felt it was far less oppressive than origins. less warden-y, by all means, and thank goodness. all i want are more loghain-esque confrontations, coercion, intrigue, searches, whatever. i don't care if i can't put isabela in generic leather sh*t by any means. i want a cohesive world to form with all the characters i decide the fates of.
obviously certain aspects of the game were streamlined, idealized, and my criticisms are varied and present, but i had a damned fun time and am enjoying single districts of kirkwall more than all of ferelden combined.

Good question. Because I played the demo eight times. They must be doing something right.

I always have to roll my eyes at the "dumbed down" argument.

Judging from the poor grammar and logical fallices which plague many if not most of the anti-DA2 posts on these forums, I am much, much more intelligent than those who have chosen to associate themselves with ignorance and bitter resentment over a video game. Please do not insinuate that I am "dumb" because you and I disagree over the internet about a few video game mechanics.

No. it was not.

The way it was subtly forshadowed by Varric to Cassandra....  the   discussion with  [M.....] before the exhibition itself...  it was perfect and  realistic.

And for me it was even more  of a loss, since I had invested so much in  [....'s] skills and build.  I had to play catch up after [....] died.

And yet another one of these posts pops up. This is great. I'm loving this. I'm also hoping that this will be a lesson in the future that people will remember. Play the damn game before you pass judgement on it.

If you're going to attack people for logical fallacies, it would be a good idea not to base your argument on an ad hominem.

I totally DESTROYED the demo in a blog review and mentioned the combat as a major negative. But if you hated the demo and loved the game, well let’s just say you’ve given me a ray of hope.

Good that you rise that up! Where the hell do I get an explanation of what is going on?  I know there´s something wrong but the game never elaborates on why or what!

Compare to the sacred ashes: you know there is weird stuff going on and the game allows you to know why is weird.

(I had to edit because of spoilers, sorry!)
