Dude. Really. The demo is really not indicative of the full game. Even if you have to wait until it hits the bargain bin, please give it a chance. And play ALL the way through. It doesn't take that long.Drake Sigar wrote...
I totally DESTROYED the demo in a blog review and mentioned the combat as a major negative. But if you hated the demo and loved the game, well let’s just say you’ve given me a ray of hope.
I would like to apologize. To Bioware.

This OP account was clearly created by Bioware last year because they knew they ****ed up DA2. So they've had this "person" posting to build up a rep and whatnot as a normal person.
Tisk tisk bioware. (totally kidding). But this game has no emotion or story to me. It's ****ing boring. I'd rather watch flies ****.
Then do so. There is no omnipotent power that is stopping you <_<
OP: I am glad you enjoy the game. I love it...it has it's flaws but I understand Bioware's situation.

I'm the same. I though the demo was complete rubbish and it set my expectations pretty low. Very pleasantly surprised by the actual game.Drake Sigar wrote...

My main quibbles are the re-use of maps (which is a shame, because the pacing is a lot better, thinking particularly of DA:O's Deep Roads) and the combat. Mechanically the combat is better, but the wave spawn mechanics ruin it somewhat. It's nice to have enemies suddenly appear in the midst of the party *some*times, but when it's every time it feels too much like a grind.
Personally, I prefer it to Origins.

How would you propose I attack someone without resorting to ad hominem? Where's the fun in that?Whammo wrote...
If you're going to attack people for logical fallacies, it would be a good idea not to base your argument on an ad hominem.
Though you will find no ad hominem in my post. Ad hominem refers to an irrelevant statement made against the opponent. Pointing out the lack of intelligence of those who claim others are "dumb" is entirely relevant, and entirely not an ad hominem argument.

In my game, Hawke showed tons of emotion (ALOT more than he did when Carver died), both in that scene and later when talking about it. But since you're not the first to point this out, I'm wondering if the level of Hawke's emotion is determined by the Friend/rivalry status he/she has with [...], and whether you took the Badass/good guy/sarcastic choices in dialogue up to that point.AFCommando wrote...
hawke showed zero emotion in the scene and you lose all there stuff which sucks big time.Yrkoon wrote...

.....'s death was so badly executed, I snapped the disc in half.
The way it was subtly forshadowed by Varric to Cassandra.... the discussion with [M....] before the exhibition itself... it was perfect and realistic.
And for me it was even more of a loss, since I had invested so much in [....'s] skills and build. I had to play catch up after [....] died.

Good question. Because I played the demo eight times. They must be doing something right.Whammo wrote...
If you were so critical about the demo, then why did you buy the game at release?
When I played through your first battle... Wow. I couldn't WAIT for the game.. I was a bit wary of the "recurring spawn", however I felt like it could easily be dealt with. You could feel when it was coming and it only felt like stuff would ever spawn 1 extra wave.
But with a lack of story, lack of interesting character development, lack of.... anything outside the ****ing city you spend 10 hours in. (Im a quest ****, I admit it, i'm 10 hours into the game, have like.. 60 more subquests to do, and i'm about ready to take my game to EB and hit the cashier in the face with it. )
That being said. It doesn't suck. But it isn't a DA game. It's not the same game. You can't overhaul an ENTIRE GAME and call it the same ****ing thing. NOTHING is the same. AT ALL. While you can "explore" a tiny bit more. I still feel like I lost ANY FREEDOM to go anywhere lol. I could always just up and walk across Fereldan to Orzammar, maybe hit up Denirim or go hiking out to talk to my party in camp.
Now i'm stuck in a town and a surrounding mountain area?10 hour's into DA:O (even being a quest ****) I still had access to go where I cared.

Grammatical errors on a message board do not imply that a person lacks intelligence. Pointing out grammatical errors in order to prove that some is "dumb" is a flimsy argument at best, especially so when it has no correlation to how they make games.
Just because someone likes complex games does not mean they are obliged to write perfectly on a forum.

Now, now ... that's not fair to say. Combat is nearly identical. The animations and cooldowns may be different, but it's still intact. (I'm playing on the PC, so I'm not sure about the console auto-attack issue.) It's still the DA world, you still travel via map, you still equip weapons/accessories, manage your entire party's skills and tactics ... It's been a long time since I had issues with the game on mechanics, because so far they've proven fun to me, so I may be forgetting some other things.3LECTRICOSITY wrote...

I know how you guys feel, really. What happened is that they streamlined things, and when the sandwhich shop down the street of me cut off my crusts without asking, I get mad. Do I eat the crusts? Is it not the same sandwich? Is is the just principle of the thing?
I'm a fan of the Fallout series, all of them. Just because Fallout 3 is different from 1 or 2 doesn't mean it was a bad game, nor unworthy of the "Fallout" title.

Also, at least fully complete Act 1 before you can make a accuarte arguement for or against the game because it remains relavitily the same afterwards.

Regardless, Fallout still used a similiar "hit detection formula" (Love FO3 btw
But this game traded realism for... not even sure what it is. I'v never seen someone dash 7 feet, let alone doing it with a sword which probably has a weight upward 65 pounds atleast. I'm all for the new battle animations and how it's quicker. I was hoping the way combat worked would of been changed slightly because it got REALLY slow at some points. However this, as I said, traded up realism for... eye candy, and even then it looks stupid sometimes.
You cannot even customize your companions properly anymore... why the **** can't I give my companion armor n ****...
And the dialog.. doesn't make sense half the time. I'll pick something that sounds sympathetic or helpful and my guy lashes out and basically calls the person an ****.
This isn't a bad game stand alone, having no relation to DA. But when your fans expect a certain degree of the first game to be present in the second game, and it's not.. you kinda **** the whole thing up.

How far into the game are you, because they made 1 house, 1 cave, and 1 warehouse for everything, if you do the side quests it really starts to eat away at you.
