1. The story had no real point untill Act 2
2. It all took place in the same city.
It seems people for some reason doesn't like the game because it wasn't as good as DA:O.
Note: I know these kinds of theads have been seen a thousand times so please try to stay on topic.

I think a lot of people didn't like it because it wasn't a traditional fantasy story like DAO was. I personally loved it.

2. Not enough Character Interaction.
3. Some Graphical glitches
Otherwise, I loved it. Just as a good as Origins, if not better. Sure it could improve, but I love it for what it was and it definitely has set the new image of Dragon age.

I think people who didn't like DA2 don't like it because the game was less black and white than Origins. Origins promised to be a dark fantasy game, its really not. The setting is, the game wasn't. DA2 does a much better job of that, and on top of that had suprising plot twists.
*EDIT
Also DA2 actually let me see the results of a lot of my decisions.

It was much better than what I expected from playing the demo. Not as good as DAO but still a very good roleplaying game, which I didn't think it would be. I was so scared it was going to be a Golden Axe hack'n'slash.
And what the heck is wrong with Golden Axe?
But, theres nothing wrong with DA2, except theres no re-playability. and I wish people would stop making these beautiful topics.

Completely disagree, I loved this system much more than Origins, where once a character ran out of things to say, you kind of had to guess when to talk to them when they had new things to say, and when you guessed wrong they would just say the same "What do you need?" or whatever. I think Origins just had the ILLUSION of having more interaction.

For something with no peplayability I'm starting it all over again right after I post this. DA:O and DA2 are two completely different games. In style, story and playability. One thing I've learned over the years is that you can't please everyone. I was reading negative reviews of the whole game at 0900 on 3-8-11. Idiots that had not even played the game yet. It's different, but that is what I was looking for. Maybe you were not. I think it's a winner with a great story. There were plenty of problems with my beloved DA:O. I like them both.

Other then that, I want to talk to my companions more. I enjoyed the rest.
Basicially, make it longer and it would have been perfect. It would have given more time to flesh out the red lyrium idol the immediate aftermath of the battle and the Rise to power premise that the game was sold on but lacking. I haven't seen a selling motto miss the games content this much since Halo 2 and its flaunting of a bombarded earth only to show one short level of actual earth content..

The ending... well for the story it wasn't bad. I would have liked just a little more to shave the edges off, but I'll deal with it. My major issue is that with all the repetitive areas, meaningless choice options that don't affect the world and linear game-play I really don't believe I can even manage a second play-through. I blame all of this on it being released far too soon.

You'd probably get far more negative responses if you posted this in the General board. From what I've seen, most people in the Spoilers forum either at worst tolerate the game, or at best adore it for what it is. Which was exactly the opposite how General was reacting the last time I was there a few days ago.
Not suprising. goto the steam forum, alot of people played the first part of the demo then decided to throw their keyboard out the window in a fit of rage because a darkspawn exploded after being hit with a sword. Hell even metacritic user reviews are flooded by copy paste reviews giving it a 0/10 with generic rhetoric complaints with smurf accounts.
The game has some glaring issues but there are far more people blasting it without even touching it with personal taste and moral panic then people giving actually useful feed back.
All I can say is, it was a fun game, but it needs to be longer with a little more freedom to make more choices and let me talk to my companions more. That is really ALL I ask for.

I feel the DAII story more compelling than the first game. Unlike the first, which was fighting an ancient evil force, This time it's truly a revolution. Something another game failed to give me (*cough*Fable III *cough*)
What you didn't think the moral choice of be a dick and let people live, be a nice get and let people live or be a nice guy and let then get eaten by cthulu a difficult choice to make?

You did play DA:O right? They did the same thing. Only difference in the environments in that game was "slighty more gore".
