Hi there. I have NWN Diamond edition which is version 1.66. I hadn't planned on updating because I have a slow internet connection but I would like access to my companions inventory in the original NWN campaign so I can give them new stuff.

My question is if I update will that be possible?

I'd rather not use a mod because I'd like to play it as the devs intended.

Many thanks.

I don't believe you can access your companion's inventory even with the latest patch. But its been a while since I last played the OC.

I think you mean, "Should I Upgrade to 1.69" and the answer is yes. It will allow you to access henchmen inventory.

No, it won't, at least not in the NWN OC. I was quite sure beforehand, but just checked it out once again with a newly started campaign. You cannot manage the henchman inventory in the OC.

Thanks everyone. Maybe I'll try that mod after all. I'm dying to dress Sharwyn up.

Anyhting for Sharwyn.
The inventory access might be the main reason, not only, why I installed "Henchman Inventory & Battle AI, by Tony K & jonmichaels for PC & for Mac" on the first day I played NWN.
Be careful with the installing options with the PC one, which I know nothing about.
Maybe copy your existing override folder on the side, and install TK's AI in the new one, for praticing purposes.
Me? I never removed it.
The improved AI just by itself is worth the move.
Sharwyn is just the chérie on the cake.

I thought Tony K's Mod had an installer and you just check or re-run the installer and uncheck which ever parts of it you want or don't want, thats what I loved about it. :)

Mac guy here, 'never ran that PC installer myself. All I'm saying is there are many options to be considered. But many interesting options, indeed, nothing negative, of course. ;-)

Yes, that is the way it works I tried it again just to be sure. It is a very well crafted program and really a must have mod for anyone who still wants to play NWN.

IIRC, a lot of cool stuff came out in the last patch, 1.69. Go for it.

I decided to update so I could use the mod. I'm having trouble updating though I wondered if you guys could help (rather than me making a new post).

The auto updater wouldn't work. It gave me the message Can not find patch file: nwn_x12_english_from1668074_to1698109.zip

I downloaded the critical rebuild for 1.69 and it says "you cannot use this patch with your current install of Neverwinter Nights."

I also ran the CriticalRebuild.exe on the disk and it did nothing. It just told me to uninstall the game, reinstall it and then update with the auto updater.

There is a version of the mod for 1.67 and 1.68 but I've got 1.66 (Diamond)

Thanks very much.

There should be a patch, that is not automatically installed, on the Diamond CD. You have to manually install that patch, and then the auto-update should work just fine.

Diamond was released after Bioware was removed from control of things. So, typical Atari, just took files from Bioware and did not apply the patches to the initial release that they had at the current time.

Anyway, search the cd/dvd for the patch that is located there, run that, and then run the auto-update OR the critical rebuild. But first you MUST run the patch from the cd.

Checking around a little, came across the following link...

http://www.ausgamers...ails/html/17129

Tested it and the file is still available, should you not find what you need on your DVD/CDs.
