I'm planning out a module in which the first half takes place when the Hero is still a child. So following character creation I would like to alter the Hero to have a child's appearance until later in the module. So far I have the code working using SetAppearance to use the Child, Boy model (and can successfully reverse back to the original appearance), and that worked except that the model appears without any hair - there is just a missing, empty space where the hair should be, like the invisible man (missing texture, I assume).
So I extended the Appearance 2da file to add an appearance that uses the Child, Boy model but also uses the Human hair sheet (currently, Child, Boy uses no hair sheet, which I assume is the problem). The result then is that the character now has "hair", but is completely bald.
Any ideas for how to force the usage of a particular hair style for a model? As it stands right now I don't see anything in the 2da files that would allow me to pick which particular hair style to use (or even which particulate head to use), and there appears to be no code I can locate that can be used to alter a head or hair dynamically on a creature.
One more thing: I know I have seen children in the main game wearing different clothing for variety. However, when my appearance-modified Hero equips items in his slots his clothing doesn't change to match - it stays with the default model. Anyone have an idea how that could be addressed? It seems like the model is a scaled human and so one would think that items could be appropriately scale as well, and the presence of children wearing a variety of clothing in the main game suggests this should be possible some how.
Thanks in advance for any help and/or advice.

Bumping because nobody has even looked at my post. Surely someone has some insight into this?

There was a thread about this recently, I don't have the link handy though.

I made a thread about starting as a boy a while ago but I haven't got any further than Miserere.
