The 360 version is great.

Of course the pc graphics are better and the pc has the toolset.

but the game plays really well, and the controls are really well done.

Dunno if consoles can load toolset-made content. Anyone know if they can (and which ones)?

For myself, it's a matter of location. I can play my PC version on my laptop anywhere. My console version requires that I am with my console - but I get to play on a 1080P screen!

Yay 1080p screen!  My 47" sure adds to the "immsersion".  I should move my Pioneer 360 surround sound out to the living room since I have taken it over with DA:O

Why not just hook your PC up to a 47" 1080p TV?  Most graphics cards offer HDMI or DVI + Audio options.  There's no reason why you can't play the PC version on a big TV.  I do.

I don't own a PC that can run DragonAge unless I get some Windows Emulation software installed on the MacBook my work provided - and then there would be no guarantee it would run DA::o

360 is for ******

Yes, anyone that can't run out and use their mom's credit card to buy a PC that can run DA:O is a "****"

Does it play similar to Mass Effect on 360? I loved playing Mass Effect on 360.

No, I'm not buying a new computer nor a graphics card. I'm not paying at least another $100 for better hardware just for a PC game...

Then get the Xbox version. Other then some texture issues and the "click to pause" irritation. Its a great game. Yes PC can look better. But the Xbox version is still a phenominal experience. Besides you can always by the PC version later. The game will be on the shelves for a long time.

Blue, if your gonna run it on a laptop, my advice is go for the console version, it will be graphically superior. If you have a decent home pc though,. then the PC version just looks fantastic!

And you seem to have answered your own question right there.

EA/Bioware have said they are investigating... I don't think the technical issues are as significant as the legal ones (i.e., it is as much an issue for the EA lawyers as it is the Bioware devs). Some of the better user-made mods could potentially be packaged together into a Greatest Hits collection and made available for download via Xbox Live and PSN. The problem with this scenario is: who gets paid and how much? As EA/Bioware (via their EULA) essentially owns any products created with their toolset (at least, that was the EULA with NWN, haven't read this one in detail yet), then the best that can happen is that EA/Bioware asks a user whether they would like their module included in the collection and pays them a nominal "purchase" fee for the intellectual property. I believe that's how Premium Mods were handled: one-time payment and then EA/Bioware gains $$ every time the thing is downloaded.

For modders, It would be a great way for a fledgling game designer to get noticed, although it would not offer an avenue for making any significant money.

For console gamers, it would provide them a series of "Best Of" mods with the EA/Bioware stamp of approval (and a "real" QA cycle to back that up).

For EA/Bioware, it would offer a low-risk/low-reward means of keeping the content river flowing.

Seems like a win-win for all concerned really. I'll be surprised if they don't decide to pursue.:happy:

My vote is for the PC version. Mod community FTW!!!!

Always keep in mind that the console version are as good as they will ever look. With the PC version if you end up upgrading or getting a new pc at some point you will be able to crank the graphics up to well past what the consoles can do.

My Laptop is close to yours and it's well above minimum spec.

Turion 64X2 2.2ghz

4GB DDR2 800Mhz (your processor being an ultra should have 800mhz ram also)

Radeon HD3200

Windows 7 Home Premium 64bit

For playable framerates here are my settings

Resolution = 1280x720

Full Screen = On

Textures = High (This can be on high because the graphics share fast 800mhz system memory)

Graphics Detail = Low

Anti-Aliasing = Off (this should always be off unless you have a powerhouse graphics card)

Frame buffer effects = Off

V Sync = On

Or if you don't mind playing in a lower resolution...

Resolution = 1024x600

Full Screen = On

Textures = High

Graphics Detail = Medium

Anti-Aliasing = Off

Frame buffer effects = On

V Sync = On

James, I freaking love you right now. I'll trust you on this, but I have Vista and have yet to upgrade to Windows 7.
