I think I have this bug as well, but my character has a strange green icon effect listed that I can't seem to get rid of. I noticed the slowdown right after getting the Primeval rune.

My last post in this thread was 8 days ago. 8 days without this game even crossing my mind.

Posted in the other thread. It's about damn time they gave us some sort of update. Hope they are clear on the Isabella bug, and whether we'll have to start over.

selling away my ps3 version later...just got a new pc. not here to brag, but i learned 1 thing with this release, never buy console version for western rpgs(yes i'm pointing at bioware and bethesda).

as for da2, i'll buy it back for pc when the price goes down, or the eventual repack editions. or just 'get it from another source'. adios.

My character slows down soo much I can't complete Act 3 - The Last Straw.

EDIT:

That's it. I can't finish the game. My party is level 23 and I'm in the last quest (The Last Straw) where I'm at the Docks with that Blood-mage, huge ass demon, and crazy amount of shades. I'm getting gangbanged in less than 10 seconds (That's a first). I have that stupid glitch where my character is fighting in slow-motion. Image IPB

I'm playing on casual btw.

I was fighting with people who were putting down DA2, telling them that the voice acting, the music, the way the story carries you through each sequence, how the back engine forces you to develop intelligent and carefully thought out strategy that leaves you proud to bring down that dragon after a twenty minute duel that can only be won through superior gamesmanship. I’d way into naysayer’s saying “do you have any idea the debt of creative talent and resources it takes to pull something like this off? The voice actors alone, not to mention music that continually propels the suspense without ever getting in your face. This was a development team attempting to lift the RPG to a new level, until it was almost the level of literature, as cinematic as a blockbuster and yet able to create in you – the gamer – this illusion that you’re the engine behind all this brilliance. I’m outright never seen character crafted with such skill and devotion to detail and personality. I found myself slowing down to savor even a throwaway cut scene. That takes real talent, real creativity – for a moment I thought it might become a benchmark of how future RPG’s could evolve.

And then, after 50 hours into carefully crafting every nuance of my Rouge – she slows to an agonizing crawl. No problem, I’ll reboot. Humm. Okay, I’ll just drop back and . . . crap – you mean this thing has rippled through every game save on my hard drive? Can’t be. Is my PS3 crashing? What? And then, aftr hours and hours uninstalling, reinstalling, destroying potentially buggy inventory, trading out companions, applying runes – I finally realize the whole game is fatally crippled by a bug that a twelve year old beta tester should have caught on the first play through. So I log into this site for comfort only to find the scores and scores of players praying to the maker for deliverance. So then I take a look to see what Bioware is saying and I find: We’ve just sold more than 2 million copies! Thanks everyone!

Glad we could make you all so happy, boys. Myself, I’m irritated, angry, and feeling flat out used. Seems DA2 wasn’t out to break new ground or leave a cornerstone in RPG history. It was all about the cha-ching factor.

It’s actually kind of tragic. When I think about the talent, the voice acting, the attention given to even quick cut scenes – the time spent creating an intelligent, strategy driven game play that exploited cross combos and demanded more than a hack and slash mentality – when I consider there were some truly brilliant designers and writers at work here – what I figure, they’re as angry and irritated as the pages and pages of devoted players on this post.

My heart goes out to the creativity and imagination that made this game so engrossing you wanted to slow down and savor every last quest. They all did a hell of a job. What a pitiless waste to have it all crippled by some lame QA team unable to uncover a flaw the size of Cleveland! How does that happen? A bug so malevolent that it leaves the entire game simply beyond redemption. To me, it’s just damn sad. Because this truly coulda been a contender.

I agree. I loved the game until the bugs started to show up. I know there are ways to avoid the friendship bug by isabela but it's just tedious. Im using a rogue and it's just stupid playing slow.

I'm just surviving because of haste and equipments/weapons with +attack speed. But only for a little while. My enjoyment is just slowing down as well. I'm in Act 3, 2nd Playthrough. After this I'm gonna stop.... even though I still haven't tried the female Hawke. I'm just glad I ignored Isabela and Sebastian in my first playthrough. Kinda sucks since I paid for that Sebastian DLC.

My thoughts exactly (except my Hawke is a warrior) ;).  Bioware, I've been a fan of your work since Jade Empire and I gotta say that DA II is making me consider to not buy another one of your games.  If this had been a less obvious or painful bug (i.e. No high res Garrus in ME1) I'd think we'd be more understanding.  But considering that this bug stems from a character, whose relationship w/ your character can very much so affect your choices and dialogue options near the end in Act II, and only gets worse as the game progresses....  Gotta say that it makes me wonder why I should be loyal or a fan to a company more concerned with sales then the release of a patch that is supposed to fix a very obvious and painful bug (or the other 99 bugs promised to be fixed)  for the very people that made that company economically successful through the years. <_<

You said it how it is matey .... I used to love fallout 3 and pre booked the collectors edition of new vegas. I then spent about 2 months playing it and had to deal with the constant crashing of the damned gamebro engine and eventually have now decided ile never buy a bethesda game again. I was also sooooo excited about DA2 and could not wait to play it and got to act 3 an had to stop because of my useless warrior due to this glitch. Now it seems Bioware do not care about us and there so happy they sold so many coppies. Its completely unacceptable. I doubt i will buy any further dragon age titles after this its just upsetting.

such a shame ... a real shame indeed

The patch that is said to fix this and many other issues is apparently done. It's just going through certifications to be released (hopefully this coming week).

One whole bloody month!
And as the patch won't fix my 60 hour save I'll continue to count the days until it does in what is the most significantly bugged game I've ever played.

*sigh* So much for being able to play this game before work starts to pick up again. I just hope it gets fixed by July, cause that's when I start to get free time again.
