I started having this problem almost at the end of act 2....
But i saw this topic before my Hawke transformed in to a total turtle.
Can someone with a really slow Hawke and the black emporium test if using the item that you can buy in it fixes this bug please?
Also if Bioware dont fix this soon im not going to buy anymore Bioware games.
Im tired of being a game tester, this generation of games is a joke.

Lol. I remember buying DA:O on release, game-breaking bug (which I can't recall now) had to put that game away after 25+ hours gameplay and enjoyment, and didn't pick it up for a year.
Then came ME:2 recently, low and behold, a massive bug that totally destroyed all my saves (and the forums were ablaze then too) put it down, and still to this day haven't picked it up (or completed it).
Put it all behind me, pre-ordered and bought DA:2 on release, BAM - another stupid gamebreaking glitch, my character can be melee'd to death by a single weak enemy before I can finish casting the most simple spell, it's gotten that slow.

Well done BioWare, you did the trifecta, I've bought 3 massive games from you, and all 3 have had total gamebreaking issues. Dissapointed isn't the worst, you make the best games in the industry without a doubt, but the QA in your games is beyond a joke.

Frustrating isn't the word.

Oh...... well thanks anyway... im just going to start a new game with a mage...
I'll leave my rogue till they patch this (if they do it...).
If its not patched next week then i'll trade my game for something that's not broken.

Okay, We all are miffed at the bugs/glitches. We're all upset that Bioware is dragging their feet. But no matter how much we're upset that the game isn't working right, I don't think anyone hates the game. We're upset that we can't fully play what is a great game because of these problems. I personally think that trading the game in is overreacting unless you honestly hate everything about DA2 from the gameplay to the story. The game itself is fine.

It's just these bugs that are keeping it from working correctly. It's not like there is anything inherently wrong with DA2 tha makes it a broken game >cough< FF 14 >cough<.

Bugs get fixed, and we have a gem of a game ready for multiple replays.

Come on, Bioware. Get it together. At least throw us a bone with a timetable or something. I wanna take it off the shelf and play some more.

Personally I love this game but this is a game stopping Glitch. However, trading it in? Losing Value and getting a game that might not be as good is not a good idea. Even if you find a better game you will lose some value. I wish Bioware gave better updates on a patch, it seems putting it on hold is the best option. QA definately dropped the ball on this one.

Yeah trading it in is kinda pointless, it really wont make a statement to Bioware since it's not like trading it in gets you money back from them lol. Besides they'll get everything patched, maybe not as fast a we would like (I have had this slowdown since Sunday) but they will get it done and we will be back to a great game! Come on Bioware, let's hope for a fix quick, don't wanna waste my weekend! lol

at this rate the only way bioware could calm the masses would be giving out a free dlc as an apology for a glitchy, incomplete, bugridden fest that dragon age 2 is.

but of all the bugs/glitches this one takes the cake thus far. it totally ruins one's determination to continue. its like the mechanic tells u ur car gonna die on you at 3/4 of your journey, do u still want to continue?

Yeah, I can definitely agree with that sentiment. I literally won't even turn on the game until it's got an update. My girlfriend played thru the whole game once already but never used Isabella or Sebastian, so she never had an issue, but isn't likely to start another playthrough until it's fixed, youknow, to take other avenues etc. A free DLC would be pretty sweet, like whatever story arc they add next or whatever, but either way I'm still gonna play it lol.

I never had glitch problems with Mass Effect 1 or 2 or Dragon Age Origins. Mass Effect 2 i pre ordered so finding out Bioware has had game stopping glitches before is a shock to me. But yea i agree. Yea its a terrible bug yea it pisses you off to high heaven but boil down to its still a bad ass game i aint trading this baby in.

I agree with most of the people here..It is a annoying and game-breaking glitch, but to me,it's too harsh for trading the game in..It's unnecessary lol

My biggest fear right now is something someone else mentioned earlier.

I'm sure Bioware will fix the issues. They have to. What's bothering me is the fear that even if they get the patch out, those of us here on the PS3 are still going to be screwed because due to Sony's stance of releasing patches without their own testing.

So even if the patch came out tomorrow, who know's if we would get it quickly. That's almost as bad as not having the patch...that carrot on the stick just a few inches away from the full extension of our ams.

It has always interested me why Bioware's patches take so long to certify by Sony. There were many games which needed to be patched day one and the patches arrived almost immediately. I understand that most of them were Sony's exclusives etc, but for example Red Dead Redemption needed patching just after the release and the patch was issued right away. I love Bioware and their games but I cannot understand why their patches take so long to certify, because it's much longer than other companies' patches.

I suspect it may have something to do with the specific contract BW has with Sony. Perhaps Sony's contractual demands are stricter with BW as regards patches than it is with other developers. That's a guess.

Just gonna point out to those who weren't around for the previous gamebreaking errors in Biowares games, it took around 2 weeks to get a reply saying they're working on it, a further week till patch notes were up, a further 3-4 weeks before we got the patch to download.
If you require proof, head over to the ME2 part of the forums and search "Corrupted Save".

Not saying the process will take this long, but anyone who is under the illusion that we'll see a patch before this time next month is extremely mistaken.

People like you and all the other fanboys below you is what destroyed this gaming generation.
There's no way they dint notice that glitch before releasing the game. Im not a freaking beta tester, my rogue is totally useless in act 3, i wasted 60 hours....
I never said that this game was bad, but im sick of playing incomplete games full of buggs like Fallout 3.
I loved Fallout 3 but the amount of buggs and broken DLC's that never got patched made me take the decision of not buying new Vegas, it turns out that i did the right choice because the game is even more broken than Fallout 3 was.

If you guys keep buying and acepting broken games and overpriced/bugged DLC, the companies will keep doing incomplete games.....
There's still bugged stuff in Awakening and its been a year **** that. Trading the game wont give me my money back but i can get a good game and someone else will buy DA2 more cheap, incomplete games are not worth 70€.

Go get yourself a wah burger and some french cries you big baby.  "waaaahhh!  You fanboys ruined gaming waaah!"  shut up.

It's a bugged game, and it will get fixed.  The gaming industry is NOT ruined, and it's not going to come down on all of our heads.  In fact, gaming is doing better than it ever has.  You want to know what's "wrong with this gaming generation", it's success.   The same thing that happened to Metal in the 80's is happening to games today, it's not the fan's fault.
