During Merrill's version of that dog scene, one of the options (funny one) had Hawke say "You mean he watches us during......" I lol'd and that basically shows that there is intercourse during the timeskips but we don't see any. Good thing for imagination.

I was HUGELY disappointed. This was technically pay-for DLC for a "romanceable" companion and there was NO nookie!!! If I'm paying for it, it better deliver, dammit. Especially since he was the most attractive male romance option (the sweet Scots brogue didn't hurt). Anders was nice, but a tad too unstable. Anders was the first one I romanced, but it didn't end well. I guess I'll try Fenris next and hope for a more rewarding outcome...

Um, Vael is a brother of the Chantry, what did you expect? Romancing him would be as satisfying as romancing a cucumber, but less fun.

But he'd left the Chantry once before. I just kept hoping that he'd lose faith or something... (a girl can dream, anyway). Anyway, the whole Chantry thing seemed like a total cop out to me but I never got the option to say as much to him. At least none of the conversation options seemed to lead that way.

Bah, you're just going after his royal seat, like you did Alister and his throne. Come to think of it, all the human LIs for female PCs in DA are some kind of royalty.

And no, Anders doesn't count, he's clearly in the closet but unaware of it when Hawke is a woman. I mean, he is overly obsessed with cats and enjoys having a dude spirit inside him. Plus he's a terrorist.

I agree with this.  I also felt like the romances were less when I expected sooo much more.  I was also more engaged and felt more connected to my LI's in DA (alistair *swooon*) and with the many options to smooch him prior to rushing in to slap some darkspawn in the face.  Also with the option to go for his gold *cough cough* during moments in the camp (even if you couldn't see anything beyond the original clip scene).

Alas, I don't even know if I'll bother with a romance when I go through again, my disapointment is to fresh.  I might just have to stick to my achievement getting.

Side Note: BIOWARE! I demandz another Sebastien DLC, something that involves the showing of a smooch!

I didn't care for the kisses much either.  It looked like it wasn't lined up right when my Hawke kissed Fenris.  And please, 2 nookies in 10 years?  That's still living the life of a virtual monk.
Face it, the romance in DA2 sucks and requires that one either have a seriously powerful hankering for Anders from his Awakening days (which I don't) or a lot of imagination to fill in the blanks of 10 years time for the others (which I kind of had to do).  I think I would have just as much fun not triggering any of them.  4-5 conversations and 1 (and possibly one more) nookie in a decade's span of time doesn't a romance make in my estimation.  I could have done with more interaction, maybe your romanced LI has at least 2-3 more convos per Act where it actually FEELS as if you are getting to know them.  It felt like the romance was put in there as an afterthought, as if they felt they had to slap a sugar coating on the whole thing to placate players who like it.  Aside from some flirts, the dialogues with them as a friend wasn't much different as a LI.  There were different lines but I didn't feel connected like I did to Alistair or Leliana or Morrigan.  Frankly, I feel they are severely lacking in DA2.  Even the flirtations didn't have the same feel as say, flirting with Teagan in the chantry in Redcliffe.  Hell, we can flirt but not touch him but I still felt more for Teagan than I did any of the 'romanced' NPCs in DA2.
I was closest to Aveline and Varric than any of the others and neither of them is romanceable.  Though i imagine after 10 years of living almost a nun's life, even the dwarf was looking pretty damn good to LadyHawke by that point.Image IPB
Romance isn't just about the nookie, it's not about that, that's just a by product.  I don't see much difference between Sebastian and any of the other LI's.  I just feel the romances in DA2, which because it takes place over a decade, should have been a lot more instead of less, but frankly the Origin ones engaged my mind a hell of a lot more than the ones in DA2.

Speaking of Chantry boys, did anyone else notice that Alistair appears to have put on some weight? I need to write to The 'ball and chain' and inform her that she needs to put his ass on a diet.

You just made me laugh so hard! Completely agree!

Overall a fairly dissapointing DLC. I'm going to run with him in my second playthrough and hope that cash was worth it.

He does seem alright in a fight though.

Once I read he does absolutely nothing, not even a kiss on the cheek/hands/other places that are not lips where he'll feel guilty, I didn't bother. As a story, I find it REALLY hard to believe a 10 year span of love between Hawke and Seb without any sort of intimacy, not even a freaking hug. That's really disappointing because he's certainly an eye candy but that's as far as it'll go.

and Chaste marriage? Please, someone explain to me how that works, because wouldn't it better if they just stay as a platonic couple/friends? I seriously cannot picture a lasting relationship without a bit of passion and lust first.

with that said, he's also a DLC character, nothing major. So really if you don't get him, it doesn't even matter. In my 2nd play through, I purposely didn't do his quest so he wasn't in my party at all and you know what? No harm done either. Plus like someone said, his achievements are not triggering right now, so romancing him is a bigger waster of time.

I got this guy cuz he looked cool... didn't take me 5 minutes to figure out he was a huge douche. I think he secretly likes men but doesn't want to show it, thats why he doesn't kiss your female character. But he also won't flirt with your male character cuz even though he wants to he is still in the closet

I am glad to see I am not the only one this bothered, lol. And that I was not the only one who noticed Alistair was less attractive and seemed a little more...plumpy. Hahaha. Loved that diet comment, btw. All in all, romancing Sebastian, to me, was a complete waste of time. I am on my 5th playthrough now and am really just doing his quests for the gold. I was severely disappointed with the 'romance.' Though, I agree he is very pretty, and the *accent*....Ehehe, I love the accent. Only reason I really bothered with him. Good character, just not worth the time and effort to romance. Somehow though, he was the only one who ever die in my party.

Out of all romances, Anders is my favorite(I loved him from Awakening, so it just kind of traveled over. I was like "eee! ANDERS!), then Fenris. Both were awesome and definitely induced some fangirl tendencies and fanning. :P

Great accent, and pleasing appearance, and I would totally not even mind the chastity thing because I dig the whole courtly love concept...except I can't stand him. So no, never going to do this "romance", but I will still do his quests for loot - love the allure staff!

For some reason I actually got the Sebastian romance, I was just teasing him for fun, because I was already flirting with Fenris. I even got the chaste marriage bit, maybe it was a bug or something. Still he is cute, to bad there is no option of defiling pure chantry boy.

Me too. My Hawke flirted with just about everyone and even had sex with Zevran and I *still* got the chaste marriage thing. My character was not committed to anyone though and didn't have sex with any of the followers so I think it has more to do with that than about not flirting with anyone else ever.

Does Sebastian say anything special to you in the end in the Gallows courtyard? Or is the "chaste marriage" thing it?

Yes, he tells your Hawke how amazing she is and then starts to say something along the lines of how he wishes things had been different but he doesn't finish what he starts to say.

And just so you know Jenniffer Helper said Seb's story isn't finished yet.

Judging by the amount of fanart i've seen, quite a few people have romanced Sebastian. A chaste romance? Must be the Scottish accent.

I know I'm completely in the minority on this, but I liked that there's a relationship that doesn't include sex.  It's kind of refreshing.

His romance doesn't have an ending, right? I haven't seen it, so I'm not sure.  If he were a real LI, with had an ending in DA2, I'd be interested in running through it with a Chantry-loving Hawke.  Or maybe a power-grabbing Hawke.  But he seems to be more of a glorified flirt option.

Following his rivalry path he does mention, in jest I think (but hope not), that he as the Prince of Starkhaven and Hawke as the vicountess of Kirkwall would make a great team and he tells her 'I'll offer you no less then a prince'.   Seems like something could happen there if you push him towards returning to become the prince instead of taking the chantry route.  Who knows.  I still love Sebastian though.

Even though this is what I wanted to do to him after!

I believe Sebastian has an ending related to love somewhere on youtube. But Sebastian, annoying as he is, still has apart of the story to play. XD

Completely agree.  I'm looking forward to seeing what happens with him, especially if he leaves to amass an army.

I hope not. Or at least, I hope we'll have the opportunity to ignore him. There is a reason I didn't bother to download him.
