I'd like to receive some feed back on Berserker spec. Is it more approperiate to use a sword n' board or two-hander? What tree synergizes well with Berserker specialization. Is adrenaline useful? How well does it function with other damage increasing activation skills? I'm curious because of my interest in the warrior class. Thanks.

I've been thinking about how to use Berserker as well, but I simply haven't played enough yet to have much actual experience with the various trees or really test anything out, and I can't honestly say whether 2H or SnB are better to use as I've only tried 2H so far (and haven't thoroughly tried all the stuff available even there). I can try to do some numbers on the Berserker's abilities, though.  I'll use my current Hawke as an example:

L12 2H warrior
32 Str/20 Wil
Anderfel Cleaver (20 damage per hit, 36 DPS) w/ Rune of Impact (+4 Physical Damage) + Lightning Rune (+4 Electrical Damage), Armor of the Fallen set (+1 Str)
51 DPS/150 Stamina

The 51 DPS is what is listed on the Attributes page for my char; I don't know whether or not it includes the bonuses from my runes and armor.  Given the damage and DPS listed in the game for the Anderfel Cleaver (and other weapons seem to follow the same pattern), I'm going to assume that damage per hit translates to DPS at a 1:1.8 ratio.

Fully upgraded Berserk gives damage bonus equal to 15% of remaining Stamina, if I'm reading the description right, so my Hawke, w/ a full Stamina bar, would have +22.5 damage, which translates to +40.5 DPS, nearly doubling my Hawke's auto-attack DPS.  That sounds pretty beastly, and with only -2 Stamina per hit, each hit reduces that damage bonus by only 0.3 points (which translates to -0.54 DPS).  The question is, is it worth it to spam Adrenaline, expending Stamina and trading the basic Berserk boost for Adrenaline's damage boost?

Upgraded Adrenaline is +8% damage per use, and with its cost of 20 Stamina, my Hawke can use it 7 times for +56% damage.  Assuming my base damage per hit, before using any abilities or sustains, is 28.3 (again, going off the assumption that 1 damage = 1.8 DPS), this increases damage per hit to 44.2 and DPS to 79.56.  A small additional boost from having 10 Stamina left over and Berserk still active brings this up to 82.26 DPS, but that last 10 Stamina drains in only 1 auto-attack cycle, so it might as well not even be there.  This is less than what you get by keeping a full Stamina bar and only sustaining Berserk without using any abilities (91.5 DPS).

However, the damage from Berserk goes down with each hit, while the boost from Adrenaline is constant until the stacked Adrenalines expire.  Since you're losing 2 Stamina per hit, you're basically losing 0.5 DPS per hit with Berserk active, but the initial gap in DPS is so large that it takes about 22 hits before the DPS for the two options would even out.  Once again, if damage per hit goes to DPS at a 1:1.8 ratio, that would mean that you attack 1.8 times per second, so it would take about 12 seconds to do 22 attacks--meaning that by the time this happens, the Adrenalines expired 4 seconds ago anyways.

The bottom line?  It looks like there is not much reason to use Adrenaline, and that auto-attacking w/ only Berserk active is much better than using Adrenaline.  However, this is all on paper, and it's also assuming that I'm getting all my numbers right.  The formulas for DPS, descriptions for abilities, and etc. are all somewhat vague, so I could easily be missing something here.  Keep in mind it's also just using my own char's stats, things might play out differently for a char with a drastically different Str/Wil mix from mine.

Now, for other trees that synergize with Berserker, I did have one idea about this and about how one could viably make use of Adrenaline.  The Battlemaster tree's Second Wind ability apparently regens 100% of your Stamina when used, so what you could do is activate Berserk, spam Adrenaline until you're out of Stamina, then use Second Wind to refill your Stamina bar, effectively stacking the damage bonuses from multiple Adrenalines and the damage bonus from Berserk + full Stamina bar at the same time.  If this works the way I think it would, this option would obviously send your DPS skyrocketing into the stratosphere.  The numbers for how it would go on my Hawke:

28.3 damage per hit
7 Adrenalines = +56% damage = +15.87 damage
Full Stamina + Berserk = +22.5 damage
Final damage = 66.7
Final DPS = (66.7 * 1.8) = ~120

Once again, this is pure theorycrafting and I haven't had a chance to actually test it out yet, but given what I can infer from the information given in the game and the abilities' descriptions, I think this is how it would play out, and if so it would be a pretty crazy technique.  Hawke's DPS would be more than doubled for 8 seconds and throwing in abilities like Cleave or Barrage could up the DPS even more.  Definitely going to test it, along with other mixes of sustains and abilities in combination with Berserker talents, as soon as I can.

Respec late game to have Berzerker, Reaver, and Vanguard. 1 mage needs to have upgraded Haste. Cast all your buffs and you will clear everything before they run out. It's ridiculous. No need for a tank.

i stacked all my beserker skills(adrenaline, barrage, and beserk) and went to town on bosses with only might from vanguard tree and i did crazy good damage and i used second wind to replenish my stamina until the skills wore off...bosses were nothing to me, and according to these forums i was using a very low grade beserk-reaver/vanguard build.
