First off, hello all!...new to the forums.. anyhow. This bugged quest of Merrills has been, well, bugging me..
So I reloaded an old save and tried to figure a way around it.. The way I got it to work is don't talk to Anyone in the dalish camp before going up the mountain and killing the Keeper/demon..especially the Keeper.. btw, I'm on the ps3

I never had any problems with Merrill's quests. Although I find it sad that it takes so long to actually bed her.

You can sleep with her near the start of Act 2. She actually talks about being keen on you during Act 1.

Sorry...guess I should have been more specific.. The
quest that got screwed up for me was her final one--where you have to go to sundermont to kill the demon.. I would kill the demon, but then the quest would disappear from the log without any acknowledgement of being completed..plus I wouldn't get told to meet merrill at her house.. it was like the whole thing never happened.
Then I tried completing the quest different ways...took awhile, but the way I got it to work was not talking to anyone while in the dalish camp before heading to sundermont...not sure why it worked. Hell, maybe I just got lucky and it decided not to glitch that time.. Anyhow, thats my story and I'm stickin to it:D

In act 1? When is that, and what does she say?

The quest glitched for me in a different way.
The cutscene where you comfort Merrill over Merethari's death triggered randomly for me sometime in Act 2. That was really confusing, but I just sort of went with it and assumed Merethari had died of old age in the background. Then when I actually got to the quest, I realized what had happened.
The cutscene never retriggered once I finished the quest either, though my journal said it was complete at least.
Has this happened to anyone else, or am I the only one?

^ That happened to me, I managed to complete the romance regardless though.
But yeah, was really funny as I met her in her house in act 2 randomly crying at a blank wall (The Mirror just went and never came back. haha and I still don't know why!)
