Out of the digital box on my system, it is so dark at 1.0 gamma that a great deal of game detail is lost. The brown text in the inventory is virtually unreadable to my old eyes and the books and letters are difficult to see. I tried cranking up the brightness on my desktop but the game reset it whan it started. I tried making an Catalyst profile for DA2 but that didn't seem to work either.
What did work is editing the DragonAge.ini file to raise the gamma setting. The downside to this is it takes trial and error to get it right. Any attempt to use the video settings resets the limit to 1.0 I can actually see doors and faces in dark rooms and read the text. I wish the programmers had allowed a little more flexibility in the in game settings. Maybe in a patch?
