As far as I'm aware no Templar armor is available to the Hawke character. How ever in Act 1 you can purchase a Templar Great Sword from the Weapon Merchant in the Gallows.

A little way through act 2 you confront a really annoying templar - main story NOT companion quest. It's stats are great but you look like an idiot.

No it's only a chest piece.
Just played a little further and got some plate armor that almost as good anyway so I'm using that with mix and match other pieces.

I'm trying to get this armor in Act I. Bodahn sells pieces on very rare occasions; you have to keep loading an autosave in Hightown until it finally shows up in his inventory, however. I currently have Templar Armor - Superior Heavy Issue, Templar Boots - Heavy Issue and Templar Defender - Standard Issue. The latter of which is a shield.

However, Bodahn, by design, only sells one "armor" piece. So the chances of it actually generating the templar armor you want is slim. Do any other vendors sell templar gear? I just need the gloves and I'm ready. I got the helmet from him as well, but I don't want the helmet.

Sounds like a job for the development console item give cheat.

Bodahn does sell the gloves as well, but I want the heavy issue and the light issue was the only one that has popped up so far. I'm playing on the 360 so I can't use the console to get items.

I think the templar gear looks great. It just doesn't look right without the gloves.

There is a merchant on the docks that sales the whole set. Well, I've seen 3 different pieces there. I think it was act 2 I saw them. I also heard that if you side with Meradith she will mail you the whole templar set. I'm not sure when though.

Unfortunately, that merchant only sells Light Issue armor, which requires dex and cunning to equip.  It makes sense, since that merchant sells gear for thieves, but I had hoped to get my Heavy Issue gloves.  I also recall reading that you only get sent the chest armor from Merideth.

Do any vendors sell heavy issue templar armor?

You get the boots from the mission where the Midnight Meeting mission, I have the Templar Boots - Superior Armor from that fight.

But you only get that mission if you kill Ser Kerras instead of giving him the bloodmages in Act 1/

I thought I would've gotten templar armor from that Alrik guy during Anders' Dissent quest during Act 2, but he drops Darkspawn armor. At least he did on my Vanguard anyway. It's called Dissension. Just a chest piece. Dont' know if anyone else has had different results.

I got the helmet from that quest where Ser Thrask asks you to help him to convince some escaped apostates to surrender before the Templars arrive. I killed the Templars and one of them had the helmet.

EDIT: I just did that quest again and didn't get the helm, just a sword, but i'm sure it's possible to get the helm, i'm just not sure which Templars drop it.

My Hawke is currently wearing the Templar Armor - Superior Heavy Issue... but since he's a warrior, it just doesn't seem/look right. It's the best armor I have that he can wear at the moment, tho.

It's kind of annoying that the drops and merchant items are randomly generated. Makes it kind of hard to get an entire matching set.

Merchant-wise I've seen the merchant at the Gallows sell Templar mace - Standard Issue and Templar Great Sword like someone else mentioned. The shady merchant at the docks I've seen sell Standard Issue Templar mace and longsword, Light Templar armor pieces (helm, gauntlets, and boots so far). It also should be noted that these two merchants will randomly spawn Templar gears even in Act 1, but from what I've seen it's really low chances.

In Act 2 the quest with the kidnapped Qunari delegation, there's a chest right before the encounter with a booby trap that spawns randomized Templar gear at low chances. I've been reloading that instance to see what pieces it spawns. So far I've had it spawn 1 Templar gauntlet - Superior Issue, 1 Templar Defender - Superior Issue, and 2 Templar Armor - Superior Issue out of maybe 15 reloads...but I haven't really kept track how many times I reloaded the instance.

Update: The chest in Varnell's hideout seems to only consistantly spawn the Templar armor at a higher rate then others.  It also spawns the Templar helm, but I have not been able to get it to spawn another Defender or gauntlets out 20 reloads.  I also have not seen it spawn Templar weapons or greaves, so this leads me to believe that the chest's drop list probably only include randomized Templar helm/chestpiece/gauntlet/shield pieces.

it's confirmed because i bought all pieces from him, helmet, chest, feet and gloves.

i am a warrior so i bought the whole set of the heavy issue. i also seen light issues but i did not buy them.

So just to clarify and consolidate...

The fastest and easiest way to get a full set of Templar equipment for a warrior would be...

Bodahn in Act I; For Defender shield primarily and any other gear you can get him to spawn...
Shady Merchant in Act II; For any gear you may be missing...

Can I get confirmation or a better answer than this? Whoever gets me a full set will be an hero.

I've seen Bodahn sell Templar gauntelts and boots, Shady merchant sell the mace, the boots, the gauntlets and the sword. The Greatsword is always sold on the weapons merchant on the Gallows. Still need to find the armor on the merchants and see if it's possible to get the shield.

I got the helmet, armor, and gloves from the Shady Merchant at the Docks. Just keep reloading the area and he'll have it.
