Post coronation save is known to have problems with Witch Hunt for some players.

Yeah things didn't go right in DA2 for me so I feel I need to play Awakening and WH again.

I found the autosave after the end credits worked fine - but a normal save created from it did not

for some reason awakenings did not save for me after credits :\\ no clue why.

You can, if you wish, load up your origins epilogue save and go to the party camp so you can strip your companions of any good items you want to take with you. Then save and import that into Awakenings.

the post end-credits Origins autosave will remember the dark ritual so Morrigan should remember it if you get to Witch hunt
Unless Bioware have patched it, any save created in Origins after that autosave will set it to dark ritual refused (so only reshuffle your equipment if you did refuse, won't play witch hunt or know of a patch)

I'm pretty peeved that I can't import my save from Witch hunt into awakenings. I gained two levels too. ;_;

I don't have a post end-credits autosave. Here are the saves in my folder, in order:
Post Coronation (manual save I did so I could watch the epilogue again later)
Quick Save - Post Coronation (manual quick-save I did)
Post-Campaign Save - Epilogue (based on the timestamp, I think this save was taken right after I killed the Archdemon)
Autosave - Fort Drakon - Roof (this is the beginning of the Archdemon fight)
So is the "Post-Campaign Save - Epilogue" save the one I should use for Awakenings? I'm just a little confused because it isn't "post end-credits" like GetMagna Carter stated, and this post seems to contradict that anyway, saying a Post-Coronation save should be used.
I want to make sure it works right because I did the dark ritual.
Thanks in advance for your help.

I really like how there's never a final answer in any of these topics.
It's like nobody has ever risked/tested it...
In my opinion, you have 3 saves to use:
- Post-Coronation Manual Save after speaking with everyone.
- Autosave after killing Archdemon
- Manual Load from Autosave made after killing Archdemon after you've played some DLC or removed some peoples equipments, etc.
Which one carries over EVERYTHING? Including my decisions from Post-Coronation, or do Post-Coronation decisions even matter at all in ANY of the Dragon Age games, including DA2?

some things are unreliable and go wrong before the end (so Alistair sacrifices himself but still talks to Anora and travels round Ferelden..)
I found the post-game (on the road) auto-save to be the best one to import
Later saves are unreliable (dark ritual ignored)
I don't know of any post-coronation decisions having any impact

While I can't offer any definitive answer, I just played Witch Hunt with an after-coronation save (post post-coronation, that is, where I went to camp and stripped my party of all their cherished items), and Witch Hunt correctly read that I had accepted the Dark Ritual. I'm playing with Patch 1.04.
Will this always work? Did Patch 1.04 fix the problem noted above by Magna Carter? No idea. I'm just posting a bit more information.
