My first time through I imported a Witch Hunt save of my elven mage warden, Taiyama. When my Hawke got to Sebastian's quest, Faith, and met Leliana she mentioned how her travels with the Warden were "many years ago". At first I thought this implied that she and the Warden had broken up somehow and I felt rather betrayed. I later found out via the wiki that if your warden romanced Leliana, she'd mention that he or she was "Dear to [her] heart." The Leliana in my game did no such thing. This is especially odd considering Taiyama's Awakening epilogue did recognize his romance with Leliana.
What happened? Did I do something wrong? Am I going to have to redo my entire game (or even redo awakening) to correct this? And has anyone else had problems like this? Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks in advance.
Dragon Age 2 didn't recognize my Warden's romance with Leliana

BioWare said that there were no flags in Witch Hunt for DA2 (yet...) so that might be why. You could try importing from Awakening to see if that works next time.

I don't think that's it. See, a friend of mine imported from Witch Hunt and had a Warden who romanced Leliana, yet it reads for her just fine. What the devs meant when one said that, I think, is that Witch Hunt in and of itself did not have any plot flags for DA2 to read--i.e. whether or not the Warden entered the mirror with Morrigan wasn't something that would be read.

DA2 also did not recognize my romance with her.

I sincerely hope ME3 isnt as buggy as this on release.
Especially the save import....if there's bugs in that after they've managed to fix the bugs in the dlc for Origins, I'm gonna be P'd....Seriously.

Hahahaha, for what it's worth, I was too. Bioware managed to get me to fall in love with an emotional character and I took it rather hard when she seemed to have broken up with the fictional character I created. I imagine that the Zevran fangirls/boys were feeling similarly betrayed when finding out Zevran can potentially sleep with Isabela and Hawke. At least our issue is due to a bug.

Mine is glitched out, too.

Mine did the same thing. She just mentioned that they traveled together many years ago. Also at the end of the game she states that my warden disappeared. Seriously I think that is bogus. Hopefully they will fix this.

... Meh I had the same issue... I just started my 37 hour playthrough over to use my Origins save...
Not like I'm suggesting that anyone else should be as crazy or desperate enough to do that...

Anyone have anything else not show up? Alistar was a no show for me, and the Architect lived, thoug I killed him in Awakening. This is pointless.

I dont think its crazy to start again, I have....but as a mage this time....30+ hours, abandoned (hopefully temporarily). I became rather attached to Leliana, especially after you found out about her past..(I spared Marjolaine...I regretted that afterwards but, at least Leliana is by the side of possibly one of the most badass warriors ever)....I also became rather enthralled by the romance between her and the Warden...I think it was done rather well....Here's hoping its fixed soon.

same here. In the file I just beat the game with my Warden Amell import who became Teryn and was in love with her and I didn't get anything either.

It's fixed with the latest patch (1.02)released yesterday, tried with my first playthrough ( luckily, being a saving maniac, I had one close enough from the "Faith" quest) and with my current playthrough.

So when I import my Origins->Awa->GoA->WH- Savegame, then it will acknowledge the romance, is that right?

Mine was completely different. I imported from Origins to Awakening to Witch Hunt and I was in a romance with Morrigan, but when I encounter Leliana, she says my Warden romanced her! AGGHHH!

Yeah the import flags are bugged for a lot of the love interests, it never got fixed either. I hope they'll all be recognised in DA3!
