Do they ever get better? I have pretty much switched all of them. They just sucked to start with cept for Bianca. Would be cool if they upgraded but Ive seen no signs of that. Thanks.

Varric's Crossbow upgrades with his level. You can give Aveline the DLC sword that upgrades with level.

Yeah Seems like you can replace all their weapons cept for Varrics. I just thought since they all had special meaningful names that they somehow got better. Then I was wondering do I need to keep them or should I sell them.

Fenris heave a non requierement 2H sword without requirement. A gift thats you have to give to him... don't know if it's a powerfull weapon... seems great for him.
