I did the same; in the end, Merrill moved in and I never heard from Isabella again on the matter. I assume because pursuing a romance with Merrill pretty much immediately causes her to move in with you that ends all other relationships.

Yeah, I was trying to romance Issy. I had no intention of chatting up Merrill, I was just trying to be outright mean to the girl. Next thing I know she's a fixture in my home and I lost my shot at Issy. lol. Next playthrough I'm telling Merrill to F-off every chance I get. lol.

game remembers one romance option... but you can develop multiple.

I started romancing Isabella (hoping she will take off atleast something :/ ),
when she said "its just sex no feelings" I got to romance Anders (quite unexpected,
once it appeared so I was clicking and clicking and voila, he loves me and lived with me)

When Isabella asked me if ill be with her on ship, I said yes,
when Anders asked me if ill be running with him, I said no,

Bam, in the ending Isabella was my L.I., yet I banged both of them.

If Merrill lives with you, the Isabela romance never really happens.

But your game can bug anyway and say that the two of you ended up together in the epilogue.

Also the game sort of recalls it. I slept with Isabella before doing the whole relationship with Merrill thing. There have been several jokes about me sleeping with Isabella (primarily from Anders) and Isabella has made several jokes about the fling as well. It doesn't seem to keep it as a 'romance' option, but it does add some flavor commentary.

XBOX 360.... On my second play through, for the sake of getting achievements, this is what i did to get multi romance. In act 2 left Merrill final “questioning belief” undone, then started act 3, started on the loose by visiting Hawk's estate and reading letter, then went to Hangman, then went back to Hawk estate then started “no rest for the wicked” (isa quest) once done went to hangman, did the romance with Isa, got the i love you and romance stuff. Last went to Merrill Hut, then spoke to her the 3 times to complete her “Old questioning belief” quest, after talking to her a few times went back to Hawk's estate, then what do you know, Merrill showed up and gave the option to get busy..... So there you have it 2 romances with at the same time. Keep in mind i have not finished the game yet so i do not know how this will affect the end game conversation. Hope this helps you all

PS on your next cut scene with Isab just make sure to tell her "she is the only one" when she ask about Merrill lol

Merrill (along with Anders) is a romantic juggernaut. Sleeping with her is intended to end any relationship you have with Fenris or Isabela (which it usually does, but occasionally does not if you tell her it was only a fling). There's a known bug where Varric names the first person you initiated a romance with during the ending, rather than the person you actually completed it with. Going after both Isabela and Merrill can put the game into a weird bugged state where Isabela's romance is active for only her conversations, but she will behave as if she is not romanced in situations such as the Zevran cameo.

1. Is romanced Isabela supposed to act different during the Zevran cameo?
2. Anders broke up with my Hawke after the Fade and told her to put her advances on Merrill instead. Obviously Merrill's flirt icons were gone because of Anders' romance being a juggernaut. Working as intended or a bug? I just thought it was odd that he dumped my Hawke and the door was closed on everyone else.

Zevran does appear to be the one woman kind of guy. But he sure didn't turn down a tumble for a foursome with my Warden in the pearl. Ogren got head trauma in the process.

Well Zev is the one who killed her pig of a husband and started her life of filthy debauchery. There's always that to consider.

1. As folks have mentioned, yes. She does act differently... you have a choice, you can decline (Isabela will sleep with Zev), you can tell her no (Isabela will not), or you can all join in. Your two remaining party members will likely make pithy comments if sex happens.

Edit: Oh right, one other thing... sometimes the romantic juggernauts are incomplete in their crushing. In those cases, Hawke may still have a romance going on with Isabela in her individual conversations, but she won't give Hawke the option when Hawke has the conversation with Zev and will just walk off to have her reunion. This is a known bug, and should be fixed in the Big Bugfix patch coming Soon™.

2. Working as intended. If either Merrill or Anders start a relationship, all other romances are shut down. I believe the only way to have another romance post juggernaut headcrush is to actually not initiate one until after the smash has happened. This isn't particularly easy, but it is doable. For what it's worth, I'm not sure that this is entirely possible.

There's no clear evidence, but if Hawke romances Isabela, she won't have her 'sleeping with Fenris' banter in act 3. Whether this is because Fenris wouldn't do it out of respect to Hawke, or that she's happy enough being with Hawke not to stray is anybody's guess. I guess it's up to the player's interpretation of the matter.

Isabela always strikes me to be more into female "companions" than male. But variety never hurts

And Isabela seems happy with Hawke. That really shows in her adorable conversations with Merrill if you romance her.
And I like to believe that my Hawke tamed the pirate.  Or at least stopped her "sleep with everything that has a pulse" behaviour

She can't have him. Have to love the response when comparing letting the Hero borrow her ship lol. To a point the Alistair romance is the best when coupled with things like that and the banter between Alistair with Wynne or Leliana.

I got to sleep with both Isabela and Merrill and I kissed them both right before the end game.  It seems kinda of bad writing to allow me to kiss both them right in front of each other and neither one say anything about the other.  Although at the end it says everybody left except Isabela.  Go figure.
