Use the erfpack tool in this thread
http://social.biowar...index/6416767/2
Then
1) Rename the .mor to hf_cgn_001.mop for female faces, or hm_cgn_001.mop for male faces.
2) place the file into a folder, then drag the folder onto the .exe in the erfpack tool. Take this .erf file and place it in documents\\.....\\packages\\core\\patch\\
3) You may need to create the patch directory.
You can then edit the face in the cc, the face will be the 3rd preset. When you are finish with the cc, save your game.
4) Download this tool
http://www.dragonage...file.php?id=428
Make sure you get the 120 version.
5) Use the tool to extract your character's face into a new .mor file that has the original name for the face.
6) Repeat step #2 using the .mor file that you extracted.
The that should do it.

kaiki01, on my system the Face Exchanger (v120) seems to miss some of the morph data when it extracts? My extracted .mor file looks quite different when fed back into the game via a preset.
Also, I found that we can use .mor files as presets in the game without renaming them. Bundle up a .mor file of choice into an .erf (place in override directory) and edit the chargenmorphcfg.xml file to add the new .mor file to the presets. Then the new preset of the existing character can be edited in-game and used for the PC.
You may just be able to add the .mor filenames for existing human characters to chargenmorphcfg.xml but I didn't try that.
Yeah, I get that too. You just need to mess around with the cc to get the look you want. As imperfect as it is, its the only way I know to alter .mor using the cc.
And, regarding the chargenmorphcfg, that is certaintly another way to do it. I just prefer my way. Feel free to use anyway that works for you
I don't believe adding .mor filenames to chargenmorphcfg in the way you describe will work. But, I'm not sure.

I've been using the override directory instead of patch and it works fine.
I don't think it matters where it's saved :-p

I'm sorry, I'm probably missing something really obvious.
How do we find the .erf we need to unpack? For example, Alistair or Anders or whatever?

How do you mean use? Drag it onto the ErfPack or open it in the toolset?
Edit: Nvm!

I'm going to be a complete nooblet and ask how to use NBP's face exchanger, I tried to follow the official read me but I feel I am something missing something really stupid that's ruining everything.
I am running windows 7, downloaded python 2.7 and tried the 120 and 208 versions. I just get a file my computer doesn't recognize. What else should I do to open it?

When you name the file, make sure you put a .mor at the end. So anders.mor, for example. Try that.

Aww, so there's currently no way to change the elf morph? I'd really like to replace Merrill's face with a less...alien looking one.
You can swap the Merrill morph for another elf morph. If that is what you are asking.

I'm sorry, what I am asking is how to use the script. I have gotten as far as unzipping it. lol Then do I drop a file into it? That doesn't work, it is supposed to just launch like any program? I'm using gff editor and Gibbed's Erf packer just fine. O.o
Would you be able to tell me how you get it to launch? I downloaded the python program but the face extractor still won't open.
Edit: Nevermind, I got it to work.
Is it possible to extract an .erf file made by someone else into my save .das file? I want to edit a face someone else made.

Yay, thanks for the tips, made a version of Merrill that I'm finally satisfied with. Now I can romance her without mentally blocking out her face.
Really? She still looks ugly as sin, and what's with her buttcut?
You should consider swapping a human head/face on there. The elves are doomed to look heinous.

First off, download these three things:
ERFpack
DA Face Replacer (Be sure to download the 120 version, and it requires something called Python, so follow the link on the description at Nexus and install that as well.)
.mor files for all the DA2 characters.
For the purposes of this tutorial, we'll pick on Teagan.
Step 1: find the .mor file in that last item you downloaded for the character you want to mod. Anders, Nathaniel, and Alistair (all three versions of him) will be in the DAO Companions folder. Teagan is in the \\Human\\m folder.
Do yourself a favor and make two backup copies of the .mor file, because you will be renaming one in Step 2, and overwriting the other in Steps 10 and 11.
Step 2: Rename the .mor file to hm_cgn_001.mop (for males) or hf_cgn_001.mop (for females)
Step 3: Place that .mop file into a folder, and name the folder whatever you like, preferably something descriptive and easy to remember. For example: Big Beak Teagan Preset.
Step 4: Drag that folder over Gibbed.Bioware.ErfPack.exe (from the erfpack tool you downloaded and unzipped) and drop it there. No need to "open" the exe. Just drop the folder on it.
Step 5: In the directory where your folder from Step 3 was located, you should now have a file called (for example) "Big Beak Teagan Preset.erf"
Step 6: (this may change depending on your operating system. I use WinXP, so I'm not sure about others) Drag and drop the .erf file you created into you My Documents\\BioWare\\Dragon Age 2\\packages\\core\\patch (you may have to create the "patch" subdirectory)
Step 7: In the character creator, both at the beginning of the game and in the Black Emporium Mirror of Transformation, the third preset (after the first two default Hawkes) should now be DA2!Teagan.
Step 8: Tweak the face and save your game, preferably with a savegame name that is easy to remember (example Teagan Fix.)
Step 9: Open the DA Face Replacer. Click the big Source button on the right and find "TeaganFix.das" in your My Documents/Bioware/Dragon Age 2/Characters/YOUR CHARACTER NAME/Saves/Slot# directory. (If the savegame you just did was the most recent, it SHOULD be in the Slot # folder with the highest number, unless you deleted some saves along the way.)
Step 10: Click on the Destination button on the lower right, and find the original .mor file for the person you wish to replace (from Step 1). Teagan would be "hm_teagan.mor" or "Copy of hm_teagan.mor" or whatever. It will warn you that hm_teagan.mor will be overwritten. Click okay. (this is why you want to backup the originals)
Step 11: Click the green ... button at the bottom.
Step 12: If the file you saved was named anything other than hm_teagan.mor (for instance, "Copy of hm_teagan.mor" or whatever) rename it to its "official" name.
Step 13: Repeat Steps 3 and 4, putting your new hm_teagan.mor into a file folder with an easy to remember name (such as Teagan Face Fix) and dragging it over Gibbed.Bioware.ErfPack.exe to make it into Teagan Face Fix.erf.
Step 14: Place Teagan Face Fix.erf in your My Documents/DA2/packages/core/override, load up the game, and enjoy your new Teagan!
(Be sure to get rid of Big Beak Teagan.erf in your My Documents/DA2/packages/core/patch directory before you create a new character, or else Big Beak Teagan will be your third preset again.)
NOTE: If you want to start from scratch instead of using the existing Teagan (or whomever) already in game as your base, you can do so. Just omit steps 1-7 and start with Step 8.

If it's okay with you, kaiki01, I've re-written your tutorial to (hopefully) be a little more newbie-friendly.
*snip*
Thanks so much for putting that together! I tried it out to slap together a Teagan who's not quite right, but at least has
brown hair: http://i54.tinypic.com/zn1yt5.jpg
IMO, the DAO character creator was more flexible in terms of face shape. You just can't make those sunken cheeks quite right, or at all really in DA2's cc.
However, I'm not sure that the extraction from .mor to .mop is transferring all the data (that's also what I've gathered from this thread). Pretty much all that was preserved when I booted up the in-game Teagan to the cc preset was the hairstyle. The rest looked like the neutral preset face.
Unless someone figures out how to convert from .mor to .mop more gracefully, looks like the only advantage of working from the pre-existing model is to take custom hairstyles (ie, Aveline).
