Thanks so much for putting that together! I tried it out to slap together a Teagan who's not quite right, but at least has
brown hair: http://i54.tinypic.com/zn1yt5.jpg
IMO, the DAO character creator was more flexible in terms of face shape. You just can't make those sunken cheeks quite right, or at all really in DA2's cc.

However, I'm not sure that the extraction from .mor to .mop is transferring all the data (that's also what I've gathered from this thread). Pretty much all that was preserved when I booted up the in-game Teagan to the cc preset was the hairstyle. The rest looked like the neutral preset face.

Unless someone figures out how to convert from .mor to .mop more gracefully, looks like the only advantage of working from the pre-existing model is to take custom hairstyles (ie, Aveline).

I've noticed the same thing, I think the best way is just to work from scratch for now instead with the custom CC that contain all the hairstyle.

Also, while we can extract faces from save files, is there a way to apply a .mor to my main character in a save?

Work great Elysium-Fic , but i got some problem.

The face after all step, are not the same like the original. The face is empty (eye form, nose form ,lips, and eyebrow. are not here) but i get the head, haire, color eye, lips color..

In fact between step 7 and 14, the face is the same , even if i change nose,lips... or is just we can't changed it, and in this case that answers my question.

On the subject of the .mor to .mop conversion issue, I have an idea that may work. In order to test it, however, is there a way to extract the preset .mops from DA2? If so, how would I got about doing so?

Yes, using  pyGFF you can edit a .das (saved game file) and insert a .mor into the player morph section.

SAVEGAME_PLAYERCHAR > SAVEGAME_PLAYERCHAR_CHAR > SAVEGAME_APPEARANCE > SAVEGAME_APPEARANCE_MORPH_NAME

First off, download these three things:

ERFpack

DA Face Replacer (Be sure to download the 120 version, and it requires something called Python, so follow the link on the description at Nexus and install that as well.)

.mor files for all the DA2 characters.

Thanks for this, managed to tweak Fenris(posted here: http://www.dragonage...ile.php?id=2320) so he was more to my preference (with help from the revamped chargen on DAN).

Ah that's perfect! Thanks. Since there's no fade transformation section I guess I won't run into the old headless model bug back in Origin when I insert mor into save right?

For the purposes of this tutorial, we'll pick on Teagan.

Step 1 till 7.

For some reason, the third preset stays the same and won't change into Isabela's preset.

Can someone spell out to me how to edit Elf morphs, namely Merrill? I have the erf file, but it won't work in the CC.

Thank you so much to kaiki01 and Elysium-Fic I would have been very lost without both of your explanations. To take the headaches out of editing Elfs, sugasugaki, this is a lovely mod the kind soul H4lfD3ad has uploaded to the Dragon Age Nexus site, can enable it to edit your elf face and then disable to play..or keep it enabled and play through the game as an elf. can't change some of the presets, but the sliders work. Hope this helps a little.

OK!..but when replacing Hawks face with another morph in a savegame I have a face reversal when going to the black emporium again or to Hawks state in chapter 2. Anybody knows where this information is stored, please or how to fix this problem? perhaps somewhere in the character log?
Thanks for all the info and tutorials

Ok - all of this makes perfect sense, but when I drag the folder with the renamed file onto the .exe, there's a pop-up like something is processing, but the erf file doesn't appear in the folder. Maybe I'm doing something silly...please help!

I am trying to edit the Fenris face. Should I still rename to "hm_cgn_001" even though he is an elf?

You need to put the file in a folder before you drag it onto the .exe.

For some strange reason all the presets look quite fugly. I tried both Merrill and Bethany from the Faces.zip with all the presets, and they both look like the retarded version of their namesakes. I'm not talking about a "broken" face e.g. pixel clusterfu** but just a ugly version of what they are supposed to represent. But what really bothers me are that a lot of the sliders are not working when using a preset face. Most notably I can't change any of the makeup intensities which is set on max, probably a main factor in the reason for the ugliness.
Is that normal?

Edit: I just reckoned that it's not only that imported preset that has unchangable and maxed sliders for intensity but also a few of the other presets that I installed at some point in time. What could cause that?
I'm using the Vibrant Color and Bidelles Cosmetics. I'm also using the chargen.xml compiler.

I've noticed there's quite a few .mor files for one character. Bethany and Carver have seventeen, for example. I assume the three different preset faces each have three different .mor files.
My question is, does it matter which .mor file I pick for editing? If so, which one should I pick for, say, Asian Bethany?

The second I drag the renamed .mor file into the gibbed.bioware.erfpack.exe I get a "this program has stopped responding" message.

Ah well, whatever. I just made a face "from a scratch". I did exactly as Elysium-Fic's tutorial suggested, but
Bethany did not change. Now I'm wondering, which of the Bethany .mors am I supposed to replace? hf_bethany.mor? hf_bethany_h1s1.mor? hf_bethany_inf.mor? hf_ibethany_h3_s1?

@Asch Lavigne: You're not supposed to drag the .mor file onto the .exe but a folder which contains the .mor file.
On the other hand, I don't exactly understand what you mean by "Preset1-3" and so on.

Seconded. Do you mean the presets used for Hawke? Or does Bethany actually have a range of presets I've never heard of until now?

I did drag the folder with the .mor into the exe, not the .mor file itself.

By the presets, I mean for Hawke, I'm sure know that each preset for Hawke in the CC determines how Carver/Bethany/Mom will look. So if you want a certain Bethany file you have to know which one is say the default Bethany which would be the h1s1.

There's a chart somewhere online that shows what Hawke preset determines which sibling face you get.

This isn't what I originally found but it does the job...

Oh right, thanks! Currently happily editing Bethany's horrid pink make-up.

For those interested in tweaking NPC faces, this file; http://www.dragonage...ile.php?id=2657 , may prove to help quite a bit. It adds a number of NPC faces to the Character Creator, providing a solution for those of us having issues with the correct face appearing as preset number 3.

The NPCs included are;
-Anders
-Sebastian
-Alistair
-Cullen
-Nathaniel
-Teagan
-Carver (default preset only)

-Cassandra
-Isabela
-Leliana
-Morrigan (apparently, everyone's favourite witch has her very own .mor file hidden within the game)
-Aveline
-Bethany (default preset only)

@Lilunebrium - You're welcome.

I already have that mod you linked (Yay for Morrigan!) but didn't think to use it here, I'll have to try that. That might help skip the problem I'm having and move me ahead a few steps, so thank you for that.

Edit: Grrrr, no, I still get a "program not responding" whenever I drop the file into Gibbed.Bioware.ErfPack.exe to make it into an .erf.
