I was so excited to read that they were introducing new hairstyles but the new hair styles are some of the worst I have ever seen. Some of them look so gammy! One is definitely 'someones mothers bowl cut'! Please someone make us some hairmods! <3

That said, I support this thread overall. God some of the hairstyles in this game are horrendous, on both the men and women's side. Also.. you modders are just amazingly awesome. Props to you for what you do.

And honestly... a bowl cut? on a female? bah. Sorry. Some of them have me really head-scratching.

It's so that you can look like the people from Lady Gaga's music video AlejandroeAchloryn wrote...
Well it's a personal preference, Rash. Obviously Bioware didn't think all the hairstyles were terrible either, or they probably wouldn't have put them in the game. Yes, I certainly wish there was a larger selection. (For instance, no hair that matches Morrigan's from DAO? bah)

No, I totally disagree. Some of those hairstyles are like most of the presets. Seriously. Tell me with a straight face that some of those presets, especially the female ones, could be considered good looking. By anyone.
In fact, I can't think of a game at all, off hand, where there aren't ugly presets and hairstyles. I can only imagine they are put in the game because someone is thinking about the five people in the entire world who try to make the ugliest character they can when customzing their character.
Anyways, to get back on topic, I would love to see http://social.biowar...m/project/3766/ hairstyles ported to DA 2. The modder in question (marquisondore) has posted recently about troubles modding for DA 2, so at least we know there's one hairstyles person working to crack this nut.

There's a mod on nexus that allows you to change the presets of the iconic m/f hawke. When I installed it, it opened up isabella, aveline, morrigan's bun hairstyle, and that "bride" hairstyles, as well as meredith's hairstyle. Wasn't a big new selection, but I was surprised to see it there.
so it gives you these few extra hairstyles when creating a custom appearance? does it work when usng the mirror on the emporuim?

Talathion, you realize that there's no real toolset for DA2 yet right? And the game has only been out for 6 days. It's gonna take people time to get mods tested and working before they're released for us. Be patient, we'll have our hair mods soon enough i'm sure
BioWare went and changed the file format for all the models just enough that our existing tools won't work; we need time to figure out what they did and write new ones for the DA2 format. We can't even trick the game into using the old ones; they can be added, but they end up not being visible in game.
