This mission is impossible, how the hell do I beat it? I keep getting killed at the room with the spike traps and it just endlessly spawns enemies, what the ****?

not sure which spot your talking about but there are a few rooms like this through out the game. most of the time there is a switch somewhere to shut them off.

He is talking about the main room, where Varric has his fantasy moment, But when you do it with a full party, Spears shoot up through the floor.
Best way to do it is have Anders healing and then a damager mage like Merril.

Use a rogue. Give him or her some cunning, a lot of it ?
I can't remember a room with spears showing up in this particular instance...
