During the "Finding Nathaniel" quest, Nathaniel mentions "Warden allies" giving them a tip about the Deep Roads in that area.  Hawke asks if these allies are dwarves, and Nathaniel simply says "No... it's complicated."

I'm assuming this is related to the cryptic business the Wardens refer to at the end of Act 2.

Anyone have any ideas?  Or since Nathaniel is glitched to think the Architect is spared no matter what, maybe this is just another reference to the Architect and his Disciples?

I did play Awakening, and I'm still confused.    All I could think they were referring to were the Disciples, like the one you can spare at Amaranthine.  But it wouldn't make sense for them to be Warden allies 6 or 7 years later if your Warden-Commander refused to work with them and instead slaughtered them all.  I guess that's why I'm curious to know if this is plot-related or just another part of the "Architect is spared" glitch.

You should know that there a bug in that quest, it only recognize that the Architect was spared in awakeing for now.

That's because there isn't a single Flag for Awakenings, it's not a bug they're simply not there at all.  Only DA:O flags are built in as of yet.

How do you get this quest?

Official word from Bioware is that Awakenings flags are supposed to have been implemented already. The flag bug is under investigation. It's the other DLCs that aren't integrated yet.
