Okay so I have seen quite a few threads where people are upset at the number of hours it took them to beat the game. For me I am pretty sure it was north of 30, I didn't really keep track of the time. These same people compare DA:O (which I think for most people ranged from 40 to 60 hours although I seem to recall people claiming to beat it in 20) and sice DA2 didn't take as much time it is therefore not worth $60.

My question is how many hours of gameplay is worth $60 to you? Since I my first play through took me 30 hours I see that as get an hour of game play for $2, which to me isn't something turn your nose up at.

Please leave comments about your views on flaws of the game out of this thread. I just want to know the number of hours you think is fair for $60. Comments like "I am okay with x hours if the game is good," just don't go into specific reasons there are other threads for that.

To me it seems game length wise we are getting value for our buck. You go to the movies between snacks and drinks you are looking at twenty bucks. You go out to see eat you are again looking at 10-20 bucks. Both enternment venues give only an hour or two enjoyment for a third of a price of a videogame.

I got 47 hours of gameplay with my first playthrough as a mage. I spent 2 hours in the black emporium finetuning my characters appearance though. Then the rest just running around town and doing quests one by one and taking my time.Really though, as long as I get 10 hours out of a game it's worth it to me. Heck, people still pay $20 dollars for a movie and you only get an hour out of those.

I played DA:O so much that it must have ben like half a cent per hour played. DA2 will be the same.

I spent a little more than 30 hours and was able to buy the game for 20 dollars due to gift cards and trade-ins, so that's definitely good for me, but 60 dollars is fair I guess, since that's the standard amount for basically all new video games.

First playthrough was around 50hrs on hard, and I missed alot of sidequests...but I also did alot of em. So, even with all the things I disliked about the game I still enjoyed it & hope they fix these in DA3. Of course I skipped alot of quests to keep next replay fresh somewhat, anyway yeah I got my moneys worth, though my copy was only 50 bucks.

I didn't even think to put in replay value. So yeah value goes up for every play through.

I just don't like to use hours played as any sort of indicator for value.

I'm just fine spending money on my hobbies and things I like. To me it's more like a movie. No matter what movie I go see it will still cost me 10$ - 12$ to go to the cinema. Some movies are worth it, some aren't, but they're all the same length more or less.

20-60 hours for me, under 20 and i feel underwhelmed, over 60 and i'm bored

if it's sandbox (like Oblivion) i value # of hours when considering purchase as i never replay sandbox rpg's

if it's linear then i value replayability more than # of hours, i replayed Mass Effect 1 enough to say it was worth $200+

DA2 so far seems like the replayability isn't as strong as other titles, which is why i'm holding off on buying it right now

Black Ops is $60 and it's like 10 hours on Veteran difficulty ( we are talking only for single player because DA 2 doesn't have multiplayer )
so 20-50 hours is good

I think this an odd way to measure the money you spend. I don't spend money to murder time, I spend it to enjoy myself. So, if I spend $60 on a game, it's bloody awesome yet I only get about 10 hours of gameplay, I am satisified. If I spend $60 on a game, spend 40 hours on it, 10 of which are doing Fed-Ex quests, 5 of which are spend travelling, and another 10 of which are spent watching stupid cut scenes, and 15 of which feature OK gameplay, I feel pretty ripped-off.
