sup guys :V lol first post.

SO. I've decided I want to take on the daunting task of cosplaying everyone's favorite possessed mage, but I'm thinking the outfit is going to take more skill than I've got. Anybody up for a commission? :| I have money, just not time.

TOTALLY RAN OFF INTO THE FREE MARCHIN' SUNSET WITH HIM, HAHAHA.

It's totally feasible.... I'm actually undertaking that daunting task myself of cosplaying him at some point. Sewn commissions arn't my strong point but I could help pool ideas on how to go about making it?

Very feasible. Probably expensive depending on how accurate you want your materials, and the middle layer would be labor-intensive, but it looks like one of the more do-able companion outfits. Looking forward to seeing how it turns out for you :)

pretty easy to make imo. The game practically shows you now what the textures of the clothes are (Varric's silk belt, Merrill's velvet scarf, Isabela's printed bandana) and from my pattern cutter eye it's not that difficult to make. Taking a print out of back, side and front to a professional dressmaker would be your best bet- they would have no problems recreating what's there :)

*eta* not looking for work, helping a friend who is a cosplaying nut pattern cut her own costume for London EXPO once she stalls her ADD and decides what DA character she wants to be.

@Rikudou Sennin: AHHAHA SERIOUSLY? How are you gonna do his eyes? That's awesome.

@ everybody else: thank you :> I need someone who has actual talent to make it for me, harr. The easiest part will just be the hair dye, psh.

Clearly I need a plush Ser Pounce-A-Lot to go with me.

I'm actually doing an Anders cosplay myself. It's my first attempt at a cosplay. I'm smack in the middle of putting it together at the moment. You can check out my progress here: http://vlargocity.net/visuals/?p=165

I'm adding new pics just about every day as I work on. I'm hoping to have it done before Acen in the middle of May.

I'm also planning on trying to make Hawke's fancy leather belt, but that's another story...

Thoughts are welcome. ^_^

I'm sorry, but your dad completely cracked me up. Never seen a chap so happy to be sawing :D

Anyway, awesome start! Well done! I never really considered how much time and effort goes into cosplay.

Yeah, I think he might have just been in a hurry to get out of there. Anyway, I have high hopes for this. I just wish my hair was longer so I didn't have to wig...

Wow, this looks great so far! I'm really excited to see how it turns out! My husband and best friend I decided to cosplay DA characters (Anders, Leliana, and Isabela, respectively), and Anders' was the costume I thought would be the most difficult, so it's nice to see someone attempting it. ^_^

As I've been working on them and the hours add up, I've started to understand why people charge so much for costuming...I kept thinking "I'd charge someone four years salary for this..."  It's definitely become a labor of love.

I agree with the posts above: Think of all the women who will be swooning! Definitely worth doing.
