Does this have to do with the Arishok or a teamate?

I think it is a bugged achievement as the Sebastian DLC achievements are bugged as well.

**** I was curious cause I'm on my second play through and took Fenris with me to talk to the Arishok for the Blackpowder quest and a whole new conversation sidebar started between the Arishok and Fenris.

It's about the Arishok, don't know if it's bugged or not, re Arishok seems to respect my character quite a bit but I didn't turn in his qunari Mage and told him to release the elves so I can't say for sure if I didn't get it because it's bugged or just didn't respect me enough.

As a matter of fact. Several unavoidable plot related achievements arent unlocked on my Xbox as well but it says they are unlocked on the website. Odd.

Basically you have to choose various different things that would impress the Arishok.

Such as not hiding the bodies from the crazy Zealot quest. Or bringing Fenris along for when you first meet him. Or before he becomes your rival, say things that he would find "honerable".

Basically, the Arishok wants you to be A) Completely honest with him. This INCLUDES telling him if you've killed Qunari and not hiding the truth of incidents in town. So it's worth visiting the compound between quests. B) That you tend to choose calm, reasoned responses. The diplomatic ones rather than flying off the handle at him, and C) You see things his way and respond respectfully.

I managed to accidentally get the achievement just as I was leaving to fight through the streets on my second playthrough at the end of act II.

When you learn of the disappearance of the diplomats, go and tell him immediately.
Don't hide the torture of their bodies. (Or don't hide the truth about murdering them)
At the Viscount's Keep, when the Arishok asks how you'd resolve the problem, say 'on the battlefield.'

If you do the Sister Petrice quest, there's also another chance for respect if you killed the Qunari at the end. Tell the Arishok you killed them and his respect will go up.

Actually I did none of that, and still got the achievement.

Cause we did burn the bodies, I did do the "renegade" or "rivalry" answers...However the only thing I did when I got it compared to my first 2 playthroughs...So from what I gather it only comes down to "On the battlefield."  Cause I did all the opposite of what you guys are saying except for the one on one combat.

I think thats the key to unlocking the achievement.  Just chiming in my difference of handling the Qunari
