Is there anyway to get to his friendship up? kinda seems lame that he's a -5 rival points right when you meet the templer on the road and after you pick which option to say

He seems irritated with pretty much everything and anything I do, and I'm trying so hard to be a good sibling. :[ Stubborn fellow.

The best way to get his friendship up is to make him feel like an ass. When he yells, be nice and accept the blame and he will feel bad, when he gripes, the sarcastic option will often make him realize how much of dick he sounds like. That's how i got his friendship up, not that i care cuz i hate the guy

carver is a total douche. i think in the end he sides with the templars even though he had 2 mage sisters and a mage father. i should just bring him along to the deeproads so he gets killed by the taint

Carver likes templar-y choices. He's also a bit bloodthirsty, I've noticed.

I think Bioware dropped the ball with him...the reason I say this is because of this
Magistrate's Order...In this mission if you bring Carver, and you come to Kelder he will tell you his story Carver will say something close to "See he wants to die let's help him."
If you kill Kelder you get no Friendship from Carver. Needless to say its easier to rivalry with Bethany than it is to Friendship with Carver...as he seems to have this you're a mage thats cool but forget everyone else they should be held to the standard.

I've had the same problem as you, bud, every time I try to be nice to him he just acts like a total and complete douche bag sometimes I really wanted to stick a fireball up his backside lol

Even though he was a complete tool I liked him. More so then I did Bethany really. I never did get his friendship very high though (I don't think you really can?) I did get him out of the rivalry part though.

I think it's pretty much impossible to max out his friendship bar.
While I appreciate his non-one dimensional character, he just whines, whines and whines and most of the time dissaproves(out of the typica sibling jealousy?) of everything you do.
I really wish there was a ME2-style Renegade option for punching him into the face.
