Hey,

So I've just installed and start playing my dragon age 2 bioware signature edition and noticed that the map in the top right is "broken". It shows my character, allies and enemies but then the terrain is pixelated and comes up as green lines, so i cant see where i am or anything! The rest of the game runs fine without any problems, theres no lag time or freezing or anything, it just the map. Any ideas as to how to fix this???

Ive tried to play around with the resolution and made sure that ive got the latest directx to

Thanks

Hello,

I have that problem too. Here is what it looks like, the minimap and the map.

Talexander, what videocard do you have? I have Radeon x1950 pro.

Yea that's exactly what I've got.

Well I've tired it on my laptop which has a radeon x1400 and my desktop which has a nvidia geforce 7600gs and on my sisters desktop which has the nvidia geforce 6500 and I get the same problem on all of them, weird thing is that gameplay itself is'nt affected.

I've spoke to EA and they say its a " game play or in-game issue " and that they cant help and directed me to the forms.

I tried to google that problem and found nothing. This issue is not very widespread I think. If this is a in-game issue, maybe our copy of the game is broken? I'll try to play on my laptop tomorrow and also to download the game. I think that option must be somewhere. Its hard to play without the map...

It's been seen on a few very low-end machines. We're aware and looking in to it.

Thank you Luke Barrett for your time! Game is still awesome even without the map.

I have the same issue, it is very annoying since you don't know where you are going.

Seems that i fixed my problem! I'm running a Radeon x1650 and i figured it would be the age of the card going against me even though it is a good card. I went to AMD's website and downloaded the last set of drivers they have released for that series of card, which happens to be the current legacy driver set... and it works, cleared up the map and actually makes the game run better.

I'm way pleased! Try a driver update if you haven't already, whats the harm? :)

Unfortunalty my laptop with the Radeon x1400 is windows 7. According to the amd website they only made drives for xp and vista :(

Try the vista ones. I know when Win7 was in beta, oh so long ago, we used to use vista drivers for everything. I'm not saying it WILL work, just that it MAY :)

If BioWare doesn't fix this issue if drivers don't, I wouldn't blame them. Both of your guys' video cards are below minimum requirements.

I have a Radeon x1650 and this worked for me as well. I did a google, then Find Drivers and then at the very bottom, downloaded the first driver. The legacy drivers screen is misleading in that it implies there is no driver available.

ah well i know that and i knew that after i had pre-ordered the game lol. I intend to squeeze every last mintue of life out of my system before i have to start upgrading to play a game. It works for now and i figured it wasn't a bioware issue, however, the demo version worked without glitch and without changing anything so i'm unsure why the full game had an issue.

It works for now so i will continue to enjoy it while it lasts! :)

As an update, the only issue i have found so far with this updated driver is that is doesn't allow you to play older games that require older openGL drivers. Not sure what it is and after looking round on the net there is a fix... ish, for it. They never make things simple for those of us who are technically challenged when it comes to our out dated, yet still working without any issues, computers! :)
