Thanks for the shot of the Idol. I've wanted a good look at it since we found the damn thing. Not the best shot but it helps piece it together in my mind.
So, Varric's brother 'fed it' do you think the idol grew over the 7 years in the story? Obviously the sword's bigger than the idol....

I'm wondering if the "feeding" isn't more psychological-magical in nature instead of physical. With just that shard he had been driving his guards crazy and torturing his staff, hadn't he?
I imagine whatever the idol was made out of was smelted together with steel or silverite or whatnot to make that sword. But I could be wrong. :3
