I am still playing a very witty/sarcastic and somewhat neutral female mage who is romancing Anders (and loving it so far!)
But my next run through will be a very upstanding lawful good male fighter and I was hoping to romance Aveline but I hear she's not an option.
With disregard to sexuality, which of the other companions are romance-able and which ones will work best with my lawful good (possibly mage-distrusting) male fighter? So far I think only Sebastian fits, but since it's a DLC I worry that it wouldn't impact the other companions much.
With Anders, every one of my companions expressed their opinions on our romance, but Anders is an original companion.
Suggestions, anyone?
What is the best romance option for a lawful good fighter?

Besides Anders, you can romance Isabela, Fenris, or Merrill. Isabela the smuggler is definitely out and Merill's a blood mage. Aside from Fenris' illegal squatting up at the mansion, I don't think he really breaks the law more than Hawke himself does with the rampant killing. Still, he's not exactly what you'd call upstanding.

Sebastian is a "sorta-romance", but not really. Plus, he's the only hetero option, if you consider him one at all. Fenris is probably best if you're going to be distrustful of mages. Isabela's probably you're second best bet, though she's not exactly an upstanding citizen herself!

Sadly for lawful good, the only choice that makes sense is Aveline. From there Sebastian would be the next choice but your limited to a hetero romance.
I wouldn't do Isabella personally since you have to make very "unlawful good" choices to get her successfully. Ironically Merrill isn't a good option either because of the whole blood magic/demons.
For the male options, Ander is definitely a no-go for obvious reasons late in the act iii. The only viable option really is Fenris and not a bad one at that. Its fairly easy to get him on your side without doing anything that goes against your chosen alignment.

I guess I'm going to make him just... upstanding and not so much lawful then so I can romance Fenris though I'll have to figure out a head change for him, he's not all that attractive. <_<
As for Aveline, I'm hearing you can't really romance her, which is unfortunate

Any of the romance partners will work -- either as a friendship or a rival romance. You can completely disagree with someone and still respect them and have intense chemistry.

From what I've heard, if you're a rival with Isablla you never get past the physical part of your relationship and move onto romance. (meaning it might not count for achievements and more importantly it might not carry over to the next game)ejoslin wrote...

Ah, I didn't know that. So, ok, anyone but perhaps Isabela!
