I agree that making everyone bisexual is a bit much, but then again ... I was really frustrated that the option of romancing Jack with my femaleShepard in ME2 wasn't open, mainly because it meant that I wasn't free to choose who my Shepard was. It's a lot easier (for me at least) to relate to a character, if I get to choose things like that.

+ I honestly think the (real) world would be a happier place if everyone were at least open to bisexuality. Some people might think I'm a horrible person for saying so, but in being open minded about your sexuality you might spare yourself and others a lot of bitterness and regret.

I already said that the only thing that bothers me about this is that it seems a tad unrealistic... and impersonal. If every character treats the same inclination of bisexuality, it removes a bit from their identity and forces ( maybe, I'm not sure ) the character personalities to disregard my character's gender a bit. What I mean to say is, I don't want NPC's LI to treat my character the same, regardless of gender if they are 'BI available'; I don't know if they do in Dragon Age 2, if they do, I don't know to what extent they recognize my character's gender, and honestly, I'm not sure if spending resources on making LI relatonships differ based on gender is worth it, in the end.

I could be wrong though.

You're disgusting, Hroftt. You absolutely disgust me, and it's a good job you don't live in the EU, as the vile nonsense you're saying, equating two consenting men loving each other to the abuse of children, is bordering on illegal here.

I must have missed that update to rights, does that mean women have the right not to be hit on by men ? NAd men not hit on by women they dont like ?

Heard of sexual harrasment? You live in West, you probably should have. Ask "lawyer" who is in this thread :)

p.s. Would you like unknown men coming to your mother for example and offer sex loudly? I think there should be some limits (including offering gay sex to normal people).

great job in changing your argument there. From a gay guy hitting on you to a group of people openly sexually harassing your mother?

It was example of unacceptable behavior. That affects your right not to be harassmed and insulted by offers of actions that are totally wrong for you.

p.s. I am talking about RL ofc. In teh internetz things are different because some people know its not possible to easily reach them and ask to back up their words )

It angers me when people try to reference the law in a completely nonsensical, even wrong way.

Flirting, is not sexual harassment, nothing that takes place in DA2 remotely constitutes such. Also, just to remind you, this is a videogame.

EDIT: I'm also glad you're not attempting to direct your homophobia at anyone here, as there are much stricter rules in such places on discrimination as to "anti-flirting."

The part that irks me most about this whole thing, is that I hate to be one of those "gays" who kicks up a fuss about the narrow minded comments of a few. However, when there are people so willing to express their "opinions" in such ways it seems unavoidable.

Also finally, can we just get back on topic?

If you view Anders coming onto you and saying "You have a soft heart under that scruffy exterior. Am I making you uncomfortable?" and think this is totally unacceptable homosexual behaviour, then why should I agree? Because I wouldn't like a gang of people making offers to my mother?

For me as person gay is same unacceptable as rape and childporn and etc. things that i find unacceptable.

Offering any of this filth to me is insult.
Not sure if offering any of this to you, is not insult, maybe you will even welcome such offer, but for me - it is.

And I find your behaviour unacceptable. But outside this forum we let people like you talk. I think gay people should share the same right.

As long as they are not talking to me in insulting way (offering gay sex and etc. filth) in RL, i am with them talking. Just possibly as far from me as possible.

He spends the game beating people up, cutting people in half, burning people alive.

But a man flirting with another man is what he considers unacceptable?

I'd give up dude, he's either a troll, or a pureblood(make of that what you will) conservative.

I also think they should have given the option for male Hawke and his gay friends to adopt a child, or maybe Hawke gets pregnant by magic and then you get option to name your children, and get married in chantry witth Anders so your children are not bastards.

Oh don't go there.

So is violence. But that happens in game.

So is murder. But that happens in game.

Death in the family. That happens in game.

And yes, all of it is entertaining, and often amusing. Why? Because it's a game.

It could be said that the loss of friendship "points" reflects how hurt he is that you flat out rejected him?

The amount of gayness is the only thing in which DA2 is superior to Origins.
(Which is to say something, since I really liked how it was in DAO).

Just sucks that I fell in love with Merril while playing a male, so I don´t even profit for now :-)

Shouldn´t be hard, I can´t imagine what kind of person would voluntarily hang around a homophobe like you (for longer than it takes to kick your ass anyways).

This, well except for my being straight. :P

I have no problem with them including gay love interests, but making every single LI bi just comes off as lazy to me, especially if the romance dialogue is exactly the same regardless of which sex you play as. I'm of the stance if you're going to include it, actually do it right and make it unique.

But that's not true... there are clear indications for example that the dialogue with Anders changes significantly if you are romancing him as a man or as a woman

Are you saying that you don't think you should have lost friendship points or are you saying that you don't like him having that sexual preference?

I agree on the losing friendship points, but that's not what the topic is about.  Or is this setting only applicable if it's a male/male setting?
I haven't gotten to far in the game yet. Can you lose friendship points from turning down Merril or Pirate-girl?

I'm not extreme :*( and i've been a Bioware fan for yonks, just never joined the DA forums, just the old BW ones.

Although I do have games registered so maybe i'm not included in this :P

Insightful post is insightful. :)

Romancing Anders, I didn't get the sense he was "bi" at all. Never mentioned women once. I think they may have taken an approach with him that folks have suggested elsewhere: you play a femHawke, he's straight but if you play a maleHawke, he's gay. (But I haven't played as femHawke yet, so if Anders still had a s/s relationship during a FemHawke playthrough, then... yes, I guess he is bi.)

Anyway, someone back on the first page had said there was a "clear penalty" for not pursuing a s/s romance. I'm still scratching my head as to what precisely that penalty would be. And if it's the old argument of "I'm missing content I paid for," then actually I don't want to hear it.

Though she was the default female Hawke, so hot and also lesbian, which is allllright.

Oh seriously can you manage to bone everyone in one playthrough?

I fail to see the problem with that since that kind of situation happens a lot in Bioware's games. My female Warden was in a relationship with Leliana, and Alistair was confused and didn't know how to take it. I tried to reassure him that he was still a special friend, but he wasn't having any of it and his friendship rating took a nose dive. What happens with Anders here is no different. You try to be nice to every one, but eventually someone will want to try and make something out of it. Can't blame them for that.
